WOW! Great shape Robert! Love those wheels. Looks like a 21st Century incarnation of the classic Sixties Batmobile! Great work! Dave :-)
Thread: == INSIDE POSER == Parameter Dials #2 == a pictorial | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks Dr Geep! All these years using Poser and I never realised just how simple it was to change the name of a parameter dial! (Perfect for morph targets!) Gosh Darn, you learn something new every day on 'rosity! :-) Dave :-)

3ddave, pp2 files are exactly the same in both P4 and the Pro Pack. As you know the Pro Pack uses png files instead of rsr files, so if you want to share your work with others it's worth having a second copy of Poser 4 installed, or to use a conversion utility to create rsr files from bitmaps. The only other thing worth checking is that compression is turned off too. (Pro Pack can compress it's library files).

Hi Ragnar, my new FX Pak for Poser includes two "Dragon Breath" effects. (One for firing a large breath of flames, and another for flames deflecting off a shield or wall etc.)Hope this helps! :-)

Thanks Ed for clearing that up. I was hoping that it would be possible to use an AVI as a texture. Yep, maybe Poser 5?
I remember seeing a Lightwave anim where they placed footage of two actors "inside" of a 3D helicopter, mapped on to a flat plane. (Visible from the front) Looked very cool!
Poser is still cool though - I've been playing around with Digital Video recently, and was very happy to find that Poser can load full-screen PAL DV video as a background AVI. Great fun!

I'm running the Pro Pack under Windows and I've noticed that it has an extra checkbox, under Surface Materials, labelled "animateable" that's not available in the standard Poser 4 version. Perhaps that's what's causing the confusion?
desler, maybe you should consider purchasing the Pro Pack and rendering everything inside of Max? (Not sure how effective the process works though, with characters and such). Any Max/Pro Pack users out there that can help?
Dave
P.S. Thanks Phillip for the info on Video deLuxe. Will check it out! :-)

If there is no camera movement in your AVI footage I would recommend matching Poser's Ground Plane to fit the video footage ground. (May need some work, re-sizing, rotating, texturing and lighting, but it can be done!) Then your Poser characters would appear to drop a shadow as they move.My wee website has a few tips on using Poser's Ground Plane with photos than can be successfully applied to Digital Video footage too. (Plus plenty of Ground Plane textures to download!)
Virtualsite's advice above is very sound too - you need to set the number of frames in Poser before you load your AVI.
Poser's ability to load images and AVI files, including full-screen DV movies, in the background is nothing short of amazing! Love it!
Dave :-)
Thread: Friendly Reminder :) BACK UP YOUR STUFF NOW! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yep, backing up is VERY GOOD advice! It may be a pain, but well worth the effort. A few days ago, my sister's PC just mangled it's registry for no apparent reason!...Not good. :-( Dave

Hi,I use Poser's Ground Plane for all my floors and such, and you can texture, bumpmap and resize it to look like just about anything!
Just go up to the "Display" menu, then select "Guides", "Ground Plane".
Dave :-)
P.S. My website has a selection of Ground Plane textures to download. Enjoy! :-)
