Yippie! Perfect perfect perfect! Thank you jamball, just what I needed. Color coded and everything...that will make things a lot easier. And snowsultan has some great lighting sets too--woohoo! Getting the lighting to look good is the bane of my existence. I have downloaded UV mapper, but I haven't been able to figure it out very well yet. I thought there must be a Dork map laying around here somewhere so I could make some clean textures of my own. Mike and Vicki are great and all, but I like to use the P4 characters. There's lots of free stuff around so you can do fun things with them and not go broke. It's a lot harder to find stuff for the male though.

Here's a good front shot of Spike (click the top center image to pop up the window). IMHO the hair will be hard to do for Spike, but this pic is more "Marsden hair" so not a truly good reference...the character's hair is usually more spiky punk than curly. I don't know if its really possible to morph his chin right (Marsden has a weird chin).Thread: The scorpio Man is almost finished and will be released for free. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

You won't get a debate from me. I wouldn't have needed anyone to tell me who it was for either version! And I think you're right that if you could merge the two it would be pretty much flawless, as is Sarah (sigh). I sometimes tend to rant about these things because of friends who got hammered over fan stuff they did on their web sites. Now I worry about people leaping before they look ;)

"I had about %60 of my resources available...I ran Bryce, then closed it, and my resources stay at about %30..." First, you really should have more resources available than that to begin with (assuming that's a fresh boot number) --60% is truly terrible. Run msconfig and put the brakes on some of the junk programs that are probably running in the background at start up, and be sure to clear out your start up folder of anything you don't absolutely use every single time you're on the PC. I run only what my PC needs to work, and have approx 90% resources available at every boot (with WinME). Second, if your are being left with only 30% after exiting Bryce, this would indicate a serious problem with Bryce returning its resources to the OS, not a problem with the OS itself.

I would truly love a Buffy character myself, but I hope you will think hard about it. This is not a legally protected parody, which is the only protection you have. Calling it a similar name doesn't make it parody. This is a likeness of the character and actress. If you even suggest that this character is related to BTVS or to the actress (as you already have by posting in this publically accessible forum BTW), you are basically admitting it was your intent to infringe. Sarah does own her own likeness, but even more important is the company behind Buffy. They are likely to be very protective of a character from a TV show that is heavily marketed towards teenage girls. If renders of your character in less than demure poses (ahem) start showing up on the web and they track them back to a figure you are profiting from, they will have no trouble at all stomping you into the ground with their endless lawyers. If you didn't sell it, compliance with a "cease and desist" would probably (maybe) get you out of it. But making money from their character...well, they love to make examples of people to discourage others from doing the same thing (ask any of the many websites that have been shut down for posting art work, or midi files, or take your pick). I would also like to suggest that everyone consider it this way: Would you put Michael or Victoria up on your site for download? Or would you respect Daz's copyright on those characters? Do you think it would would make a difference to Daz if you were selling them or giving them away? And does it make a difference to you that the character is copyrighted to a movie studio or TV show instead of a software company? If you owned Buffy, would you think it was OK? Just wanted to throw that out there to be sure you chew on it again before you go ahead with whatever you want to do ;) Really, I'm not saying don't do it if you want to..you can do whatever you want to do.

Great! Very creative. I'd think it would look more realistic (if I can use that word for a half man half scorpion!) if they merged at the mans abdomen instead of his hips. More like a Centaur where the lower body is entirely the animal. I'd also second what bloodsong said about the proportions, but it might be easier to scale the scorpion part down some instead of the man up. If you could replicate the spines from the tail up his back that would look really cool and make it look even more integrated. Another set of pincers instead of hands would be a neat idea too.
