Well Catlin, I think right now that's a good idea to be honest. I just finished my Cisco CCNA classes and I really need to be studying that stuff up as hard as I can. I think what I'll do is take this week off of Bryce...or at least part of the week, study hard for my CCNA certification and then when I return, I may take part in the monthly challenge and go from there. The week off will allow me to do that AND hopefully come up with a cool idea for the challenge, although we shall see. :) Thanks for the replys everyone! MadDog31

I used the merge option on my Castle Among Mountains picture. I created 2 files, one w/ the mountains and trees, and other w/ the castle, bridge and island it sits on. Worked out great and allowed me to do a lot of rotation to get the right view. Also, it allowed me to do faster renders to make sure things were looking alright. MadDog31

I based the castle on a photo I had, nothing more, nothing less. I wasn't looking for exact replicas but at the same time it still took on the general layout of how the castle is. MadDog31

It's not something I wanted to really see in a challenge...but I thought maybe it would be cool to see individual tributes on it if they want to. I wasn't necessarily agreeing with the challenge because something of this nature shouldn't be a 'contest' of sorts. I think Robnobs may have meant his message in the way we're seeing it. MadDog31

Well the reviews on this version are certainly more promising...I'm glad you all are enjoying this image a little bit more. I will say one thing, I've learned quite a it off of this picture alone. After I get back from Cisco class today I'm gonna read DryFly's tuts on nature scenes also. And at the same time, I would like to pick up the very basics in Poser, although that may have to come a different day. I feel more confident now in adding the human element into some of my shots, it's just finding the higher quality ones is what's hard. But at any rate, more to come soon. :) Regards, MadDog31

I like these suggestions so far. As soon as I get a chance I'm going to continue work on it. It's an extreme WIP anyhow, I was gonna do some things w/ the skyline but I hadn't gotten to it late last night. I hadn't thought of the trees, I'll work on those some too. I was thinking of adding in a house or a shack that was lit also or something, but that'll come only w/ time. I'll look into some more things and I'll post another update when that update is finished. Any more ideas/comments, keep 'em flyin'...I'm learning a lot here! :) MadDog31

hahaha...well, maybe maybe not. ;) I'm going to go thru the core chapters in the book (already into chapter 4 on day two...heheh...but I'm gonna apply some things I learned into my bridge scenes too hopefully. There seems to be a fair amount of folks that wanna see those finished up so that gives me some confidence. One important topic I have yet to reach in the book is streamlining the Bryce...I need to learn that that is for sure...the bridge is a HUGE file. MadDog31
