Pay no attention to the sky. This image just shows a closeup for the front. The rubber nips look good. Some of the objects are offset a bit. I was going to use Ray Dream Studio 5 to render this scene. But Bryce 5 does a hell of a better job as far as getting stuff to look real. And this is just a quick 2 - 3 minute render. Not some 1.5 hour, go out and get a pizza while you wait, job. SHONNER http://www.shonner.com/

I've been working on the perfect black rubber texture. The rubber nips on the front bumper look perfect. But the tires looks too clean. I'd like to have some dirt show on the tires and whitewalls. I've been kicking around the idea of adding tire tracks behind the car. The terrain's resolution is 4096 x 4096. But I don't know if that is good enough to paint accurate .5" deep trenches so that I can lay tire pattern bumps into them. Maybe that is the wrong way to go? I could use some help though with the tire/dirt textures. My email is shonner@hotmail.com. I took the cloud plane off (which used different Bryce presets) and am playing with the cumulus settings now. I fixed the whitewalls so they aren't black in this lighting. Your HTML editor is using different demensions for your room3.jpg file. Or did you what the height stretched? I use 15% compression when saving to JPG to keep the pic looking good. SHONNER http://www.shonner.com

I set the materials on the car. The tires don't look right, though. Shouldn't they be casting darker shadows? What did I do wrong? Maybe the tires aren't dark enough under the car? The ceiling and right wall are getting blasted by too much light for the kind of bulbs you have. Are the ceiling lamps really that bright? Is there sunlight blasting in from the left of the picture? The middle window looks like a reflection of a bright sky. Much brighter than any indoor bulb. But it is still good. I myself am going to be using Bryce for interiors. Ray Dream Studio 5 just doesn't look real compared to what Bryce 5 can do. SHONNER http://www.shonner.com/shonart.htm

I did that same mistake with positioning the Sun the first time I used Bryce. Make sure you don't have the Sun linked to your camera view in the Skylab settings. SHONNER http://www.shonner.com/shonart.htm
