I was just guessing.
The thought process went something like this. While your using basic OS programs your not really working the graphics card very hard, thus it's not likely to heat up, and the heat sink alone could cool it. But when your using the openGL in the poser preview, the hardware is working harder, thus your gpu is heating up and heat sink with fan should cool it. It sounds like the driver issue could be interfering with the cooling process (again just a guess).Â
But I guess if after you close poser and all else works fine right away, perhaps I was barking up the wrong tree.
When you say P8 is stuck on the screen is this after you closed in the task manager? LIke the screen is not refreshing?

Sounds like as soon as your system is warming up your hitting the problem.

Happy Birthday BB, and thanks for all your wisdom you have imparted on us. My biggest leap in rendering came when someone referred me to something you wrote, and stated reading all your posts. Now my renders suck less. Thank you and best wishes you cranky old geezer.

Well, as long as the base mesh breaks when posing the legs like this, there's no point in trying to make the clothes look good.
Of course if the base meshes didn't break then I wouldn't be so amazed by Antonia, though that's not to say that's the only way she is superior to other figures.

Well, I like some of the screen shots of the new tiled library, I kinda missed that part. Is there any improvements to trying to render atmosphere speeds (don't think I tried that even in 8)?

Wow, that's really impressive. I didn't think conforming clothing could do that, which is why I have started to lean more to dynamic.

BAH! So that's what my issue in the past has been. I kept having that faint trace show up, and kept messing with the everything but specular!

You know what I think realy total sucks about poser? How it distorts time. IÂ mean I am using less than 20 min and boom 3-4 hours gone! Anyone else notice that?

The closer eye is the new one. In this Poser 8 render I'm using IDL, which means I can't run the shaders at full gamma of 2.2. The result is the reflections are a bit weak. But the important thing I'm demoing is that the new eye fits right and the new shader produces a pleasing and believable transition from sclera to iris.
But if you were using pro2010, you could use the render setting at 2.2 gamma with IDL right? Or did I miss some post where you said not to use gamma 2.2 if using IDL?
