Valandar, Last year, Zygote/DAZ gave the members of Renderosity their new Camel model. My sister thought it would be fun to have a contest where all the images had to use the camel in a humorous situation. She and a friend came up with the award badges and we announced the contest. We had a pretty good turnout and decided to do it again this year but using any Poser animal in a humorous situation. We added a few prizes too. And that, is the Golden Camel Contest! :) -darlisa

Thanks, Genny. I've got the prize cd's all ready and will either mail them out tomorrow from Houston or on Friday from Austin. Happy Thanksgiving!

Adam, I was getting the blue screen with any size file, even blank ones that I had saved while the SR3 patch was applied. I've been having other problems as well and finally a friend commented that it sounded as if I had a boot sector virus. Well, my anti-virus program has always come up clear on those, so I found a little freeware program and guess what? I had a boot sector virus. After cleaning it, I reloaded the SR3 patch and so far, I can save and open files with no problem, however, the files I saved before, I still can't open (get the blue screen), but those I can recreate. I never had the SR1 or SR2 patch since I just got the Pro Pack, so I have no idea what the differences were or how they would work on my system. I sure hope you figure out what is happening soon.

Thanks, Anthony. I was able to get the SR3 installed properly, but unfortunately, now can't open any of the files saved after it was added. I have submitted this to the CL tech support and am awaiting a response. In the meantime, I've uninstalled, the SR3 patch, and reinstalled P4, P4.03, and PP1.0 and am happily working away (well, except for those missing figure names ...). darlisa

Well, the problem is with the SR3. Everything works fine with v1.0 of PPP, but as soon as I install the SR3, the save problem shows back up. Guess I'm off to contact CL.
Thread: Poser Pro Pack version question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ron, I was hoping someone here would have the answer before I contacted CL. There's such a wide variety of users here that I thought that this just might have popped up before. Steve, Your answer got me to thinking. When I started the SR3 installation, it asked if I wanted to upgrade the version of Poser 4 that was in d:. Since that is where it is, I said yes. Apparently, it looked only in d:, not in d:Poser 4, so I did it again, this time saying no and browsed for the directory. And that worked. Thanks everyone! darlisa

I'm sure that this is a legal copy of PPP. I purchased it from a legitimate online source, it has the introduction booklet, the cd with the Poser acrobat images on it, and the little sticker label with the serial number on it. This is the English version of PPP, the barcode sticker on the back says v1.0, and there is only one SR3 version available at Curious Labs.
Thread: Attn: Schlabber--need strange pose for the poser cat. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Schlabber, Robin Wood recently did an image that she posted at the In Depth forums that had her cat in a pose sort of like this. If you want to take a look, let me know. Also, I have some photos of my cat at my site that you are more than welcome to use as references in making poses, especially since that is what they are there for. He's a fat cat, but some of the poses are priceless - http://jelisa.critical-depth.net/poser/catposes.html cheers, darlisa

Thread: Last call for Camel Pics | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Alexadh, What I assumed Blue Scarab meant was if someone would do the camel character from the Camel cigarette brand logo. With the camel head and human type body. Recently, because of a lawsuit, the company that makes Camel cigarettes is no longer allowed to use this type of logo (I think). Does that help?

Willf posted this link when someone asked for a free camel in another thread - http://www.angelfire.com/ab2/absolutely3d/index.html - look in the Sahara section. The files are in .sit format, so if you have a pc, you'll need to get the Expander from Aladdin - http://www.aladdinsys.com/ Although, this contest is for the Zygote camel only, which is no longer free, but has to be purchased.

Everyone, Thanks so much for your kind words. Deb touched so many of us in so many different ways. David has been in contact with the Delphi Bryce Forum and perhaps others and he and the family are doing as well as anyone could be expected in the situation. Here's a message from him if you'd like to see it - http://www.delphi.com/bryce/messages?msg=2316.124 Thanks again, darlisa

Wolfie, I almost didn't help with the counter because I was at work, but then decided it was worth it. I'm very glad I did.
