Oooh nice! They don't look dorky anymore! What's a P5 Box? The email I got from CL today said: "International preorders should begin to arrive on doorsteps on September 15."

I'm still learning new things in P4 even though I've had the program since it was released. If P5 was never released, I'd still be content with P4 since there are so many things in it I still don't know. I have ordered P5 anyway though and if it turns out to be as buggy as everyone is saying I can go back to the "old classic." I started with P2 and thought it was exciting too because I'd never seen a program like that before. However, it was limited and the characters looked fake.

I received that same generic response, but note what they say about International orders. The people overseas should be pleased with this: Thank you for your email regarding your preorder of Curious Labs Poser 5. We began shipping orders placed in our US online store last Friday. As stated on our website, we allow 1-3 days for orders to be processed once we begin shipping. If you have not received tracking information on your order by Thursday morning, please contact me at orders@curiouslabs.com to follow up on your package. *************** About an hour later, I received my tracking number, but as someone else said when I checked AirBorne's website, there was no information. It's probably not posted yet. I pre-ordered August 27th.

Boy, everyone posted at the same time and I lost Renderosity and couldn't get back on. I think the upgrade price was fair (at least for me) from Pro Pack to Poser 5. It was a lot cheaper than I expected for a program so fully packed with enhancements. I got Pro Pack when it first came out, and have not really used it to its potential. I started with Poser 2 so I've probably benefitted with the fairly cheap upgrades along the way. Poser 2 was under $100 if I am recalling correctly; Poser 3 was $99 to upgrade; I don't know what I paid for Poser 4 (I think about $150); and I didn't realize it but I paid $164 for the Pro Pack. Poser 5 upgrade was $129. And if anyone remembers, Fractal Design had Poser 1 & 2, MetaCreations had Poser 3 & 4, then CL got Poser 4 from MC and distributed Pro Pack a little later. So I don't think CL made a whole lot of money from upgrades.

I'm still waiting for my email with the tracking number. Does anybody know the timeline for shipping such as pre-orders versus orders since last Friday? I heard that some people had gotten tracking numbers when they put an order in Friday which doesn't make much sense. I think I'll email CL to see what's going on. The suspense is too much for me. And I hope they speed up the delivery for all those folks in the UK. They really shouldn't have to wait longer for their Poser5.

Ghastley's site has a baseball uniform and equipment (http://209.92.41.204/Poser/), but I don't know about football. It only works with the P4 figures. DAZ has a football helmet in their Accessory Pak CD along with other sports items, but no uniforms.

I had the same problem especially with items that began with "Millenium." I just abbreviated the names of the directories. I rearranged all my directories from the default names to something more meaningful so I could find things.

If you own Poser Pro Pack, you would enter PPP's serial number on the CL site to order Poser 5. That's what I had to do. Other than that, I don't know any other number you would enter besides the one that came with Poser 4.

You can import a Poser file into Vue without closing it in Poser or even closing Poser itself. As long as you have the 4.1 patch. Actually I think the patch before it fixed this problem. I only have 256MB RAM on my desktop and Vue runs faster than Poser. I'm using WinXP Home. It seemed faster in WinME though and have been tempted to return to it.

It's funny you mention this. I've been looking for someone else who might have had the same problem, but this is the first one. I downloaded the file twice early last week and got the same message six times when trying to extract from both the files. I sent DAZ four messages regarding this problem and finally today I received a message with a new link to download. This download worked fine. My files wouldn't let me extract the following files: BlMilDragon.obj MilDragonBodyB.jpg MilDragonHeadB.jpg MilDragonHeadM.jpg TBludgeonM.jpg I think their system wasn't working well that day and I caught it at the worst time. I pre-ordered on the 27th of August and haven't gotten anything either. I must be behind a few thousand people. Are the pre-orderers put at the bottom of the list? I'm a little annoyed because CL's site says they don't charge your credit card until its shipped and mine was charged a couple of days after I ordered. Other threads are showing that people who ordered yesterday have already gotten their tracking numbers. What was the sense of pre-ordering?

What's the schedule for pre-orders? I see that people who have ordered on the 6th are getting tracking numbers already. I ordered almost two weeks ago and don't have a tracking number yet and the money cleared my account about a week ago. I thought it didn't get charged until shipped which is usually a good indication "it's on the way."

The gift certificate for ordering Mimic is supposed to be good for one year so you should have plenty of time. I had the same question about where to place the code because it wasn't in the same place as before. Mine was on the email invoice just below the line showing my purchase of Mimic.

I always have it open with nothing because it is faster. One other thing I also do is prior to setting this as my preference, I delete all animation frames and leave it at "1." This is helpful when saving poses as it doesn't prompt you to include the empty frames.

I'd like to see a realistic dog and cat--especially the cat. And its funny someone mentioned above about the Poser 5 manual. All the examples I've seen look like examples from the Poser 3 and 4 manual. What new characters? Or are they trying to keep us in suspense as long as possible?
