Hehe, these are GREAT! I love the whole concept. "Though I die, 'La Resistance' lives on..." ;-)

Cool! I had that exact same jacket when I was a kid. It belonged to my uncle who was Airborne in Korea. My other uncle (his older brother) was Airborne in Normandy. Thanks for making that.

Ooo, can't wait to get that. My HMS Victory model is going to get a work out I can tell. ;-) Looks great Rena.
Thread: BoyScot Bryce 5!!! Tell them what you expected them to include in it. | Forum: Bryce
From what I recall, Metacreations divested itself of most of it's 3D applications because they were redirecting their focus to Metastream technology for the web. They sold Poser, Bryce, Carrera, Infini-D, Ray Dream Studio and a few others AFTER acquiring them all from other companies a few years before. As far as I know it had nothing to do with them "losing Bryce" to Corel. I like Bryce5 personally, you want higher end animation tools? Plunk down several grand for Maya, Lightwave or 3D Max. Just don't expect to make Star Wars with a $300 app. You get what you pay for, in Bryce's case you get a bit more.

Yeah, Davo's Operating theater is awesome, great props too.Thread: Well I won't be renewing my Poserworld sub | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have to stick up for Rena and Steve here. I downloaded the entire update in less than a half hour. I have a DSL line and I don't use any prohibited downloading utilities. Sure I have a file or two hang up every once in a while, but I just click on it again and it usually downloads fine on the second try. I can understand the frustration some people must feel, but it aint everyone by a long shot. No doubt that everything downloads faster a day or two after the updates come out, sometime I wait but I usually get them right away. No problems here, Poserworld is one of the best deals on the web IMHO.

I think liftan slipped off his "meds" again. ;-) Someone needs to turn that frown upside down, hehe.

These are some great plug-ins. Also try all of the Kai's Powertools versions and Alien Skin by Eye Candy, they're great too.Thread: Mutual compliments in the Poser gallery ... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Take every comment you read with a pound of salt, and NEVER turn on the rating option. Those two tips will save you much grief around here. I don't believe in giving disingenuous compliments, nor do I compliment someone to "encourage them" or give them an ego boost. The whole practice makes me sick to be honest.

Try playing with the Sketch Designer, that's a fun one too. The neat thing about cartoon render is you don't need any texture maps, just color the parts in your favorite colors and hit anti-alias. It's a very under-valued feature of Poser.

What restrictions does Poser have? I thought that whole misconception about "clip art" figures was cleared up long ago. Look, these applications are TOOLS that are purchased by both pros and non-pros alike. I use both Poser and Bryce to make money, I even sell files for Poser and Daz's Millennium characters with their blessings. Things they could easily restrict and create themselves, yet they have a great brokering system to help people who buy their software to make money with it. Curious Labs allows people to create characters, props and plug-ins for Poser with little or no legal restrictions. Understandably, geometries ARE restricted, but I think that is fair since they are a big part of the application. It would be kind of silly for companies to sell these programs if you weren't allowed to use them for anything other than entertaining yourself at home. That would be like having to pay the guy who invented the hammer everytime you bang on a nail. ;-)
