Oops, seems like http://galileo.spaceports.com/~schoolin/ is no longer valid. Anyone know where they might be found now?
Thread: Looking to figure height in Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Their has been quite a bit of discussion on this topic. Try searching for scale, unit, and ruler in the Poser forum. Also, you may want to search for Geep as he has taken particular interest in this, written a tutorial or two (http://galileo.spaceports.com/~schoolin/)and engaged in conversations on this topic. Good luck
Thread: The pic I re-did based on all advice...new opinions pls :) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Nice job. My question is, is this a well kept park or a dilapidated dump? It seems to me the bench is very crisp, clean, unscratched, and un-weathered. The area around the bench seems overgrown. Why would a clean well kept child be sitting in such a dump? Is there a sidewalk or walkway nearby? Which Poser figures are these. It seems the hands are not posed. His left thumb should be on the other side of the bottle. Her left thumb should be gripping something. Can (Coke) under bench seems rather large. Perhaps she should be wearing sandals?
Thread: Wotta Lotta seats to fill up.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Looks good and I'm very excited to see this development. As I'm looking at your render I see a couple of things. 1. The seats seem to big compared to the Poser characters. I have never been to a circus where the seating was not somewhat cramped. Perhaps if there was not a separation (dark vertical line) between seats and it was more like a long bench then this perception would disappear. 2. There are 7 or 8 seats in each row/section. As the diameter increases one would expect the number of seats to increase too. Again, if there was not a separation between seats and it was more like a long bench in each section then this perception would disappear. 3. You are certainly developing luxury circus seating, the chair backs look very comfy. 4. Boy on tightrope is not wearing any protective clothing or a harness and has no net. I'm glad I'm not insuring this circus! 5. Floor is way to clean. It does even look disgustingly sticky. Thank you for your hard work

Patron stands is a great idea. Even better would be a way to populate the stands without eating up tons of memory. -- I know you can pose and paste on background, but that requires no additional camera movement occur after pasting... wow does one have to be good a proactive scene layout. Wow, you could run the gamet... cages, trapeze, nets, ropes ... so many possibilities

"CL lied" probably refers to the fact that in some of the discussion between the release of Poser 4 and Poser 5 (significant time) representatives of Curious Labs said (are thought to have said) the program was being rewritten from the ground up. You can explore the perspectives on this by searching through the archives here and at the other Poser forums. Please note: I am not taking a position, only trying to relate relevant information.

Thread: About DAZ Freestuff | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I knew when I read your opening remarks you had opened a can of worms. So far the responses have been pretty tame, however, they can get ugly (try a search for messages about DAZ and free and you'll see what I mean). DAZ's weekly freebie is not simply a philanthropic effort but has a marketing purpose, that is to get customers into the habit of coming to their site and buying their products. If visitors become disillusioned with the offerings they will not come back, not be customers, and take their money elsewhere. I don't think you're out of line with your comment. I hope DAZ reads it and takes it to heart. I happen to agree with the original sentiments and must say I am visiting their site less often, not only because of the uninteresting free stuff, but uninteresting other products too (one of the few less than thrilled Platinum members). However, I have seen these comments and this situation before and I am confident that things will change for the better.

That brings up one of my Poser wishes. Unfortunately it's daylight so I can't wish on a star... Why can't no lights mean 360 degree, flat, not shadow, global, house lighting? This would allow one to change to any view and see what they want to see during the posing, staging process. There should be a way to make lighting a later addition. P5 nodes, plugs, and connections continue to make no sense to me.
Thread: HELP!! Need some serious posing advice! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
While it does not always work because of the mathematics involved in creating poses, one way to work on posing is to use a live model to produce the positions you are interested in. Start your live model off in the fundamental poser position (somewhat near anatomical position) and then have them move to the pose you are interested in. As they make each move do the same with your poser model. After some tinkering you'll figure out how to get the poses you want Good luck.

I'm guessing the first down chains because he's signaling "missed it by that much" ;^} Although, those pants make absolutely no sense!
