I've had a few issues with B7 as well, particularly with antialiasing stalling when you return to a render to finish it off, but that bug has been reported and I'm assuming will be fixed in the first SR. As for importing human figures, clothed or not, I stopped using DS to do so. For me, the DS/Bryce combo has always been a bit of a train wreck in that regard. I export from Poser as an obj and B7 imports flawlessly.
B7 has never crashed or run our of memory for me while rendering large files, but I've found, as duo has, that using the new lights (Fill, Dome, etc) will slow the render down to a virtual stop, and I'm running the program on a dual core iMac, with all background programs off.ย

Why bother with DAZ Studio at all? I try too avoid doing so whenever I can ;)
Export from Poser as an obj. Import obj into Bryce. (File: Import Object) Bryce will ask you to locate the textures just before the loading completes. I've always found this method to be pretty smooth and trouble free.
Thread: Neat Bryce Animation. | Forum: Bryce
Human figures imported into Bryce are virtually frozen in the pose of their respective obj's and can't be re-animated there. Looks like the Bryce animation was used as background for the figures' animation. Where there are instances of animated figure shadows (not all shots include them) the figure and ground are most likely rendered in Poser or DAZStudio and backgrounded with Bryce. Same for animated figures sitting in chairs or lying down. Both figure and chair or figure and gurney/table also seem to be Poser or DAZStudio renders with Bryce as a background.

Bagginsbill, you never fail to teach. All of this would have been a hell of a lot easier if you hadย written the Users' Guide.

Thread: Michael 2 Remap: Opinions Please | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As far as accurate, male muscularity is concerned, M3 doesn't hold a candle to M2. M3 (and M4 for that matter) have ridiculously odd upper arm and neck physiology, and simply awful deltoid distortion when arms are raised higher than 90 degrees to above the head. M2 has both shoulder correction and bicep flex correction morphs that normal-out the mesh anomolies. M3 and M4 do not. M3 and M4 texture maps, however are superior to M2's, hence dphoadley's remapping work.
Thanks, dp. Looking forward to giving it a try.

Apple: I'm guessing by your name that you might be on a Mac. If so, and if you're running Snow Leopard, there is an issue with Poser obj files and OS 10.6x. Pre-Snow Leopard I was able to import Poser obj's into Bryce easily. Now, the import freezes as Bryce asks for texture locations. Apparantly, there's a similar problem with Poser obj's imported into DAZ Studio under 10.6 as well. Looks like there might be a problem with Poser obj's imported back into Poser under Snow Leopard too.

NoelCan: We Have the same machines. iMac ย 2.16 Ghz Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM. Have you tried increasing the number of render threads? If not go to Preferences>Render and increase the number of threads to 4. See if gives you more render speed and more spare CPU power. Additionally, If you check โseparate processโ it can help accelerate complex scene renders.

There is an issue with the P8 library and importing external runtimes which is already being addressed in the soon-to-be-released SR1. But for me, the program is stable as hell under 10.6 and hasn't quit or crashed on me yet.

M_L_R: I've been running Snow Leopard with P8 since it's release with no problem so far. IDL runs smoothly and opening Poser files as old as P4 do so and render without a hitch. P8 DOES (oops, sorry, Bagginsbill) does feast on my Core 2 Duo processor when rendering with IDL, but I wouldn't open a browser during a P8 (or Bryce for that matter) render--as I wouldn't do so while burning a DVD--if I want either to be problem free.
I do have a issue with Bryce 6.1 freezing while trying to load textures from an imported P8 obj under Snow Leopard, but that a whole 'nother forum.

Stable and powerful for me. I agree with TrekkieGirl about the subtle interface morph into DS, which is a gawd awful UI, but other than issues with the library and importing external runtimes, which will be addressed in SR1, this release has been surprisingly satisfying.
