Thread: a plea to Poser merchants | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
building the store = one day
putting products in the store = one day
marketing and promoting the store = 24/7, 365 days a year
creating new content and staying up to date with 3d and poser products = zero time
trust me, I have forgotten a lot of what I used to know about poser because I was focusing on running an online store. While making a store IS easy, getting customers will become your job, you won't actually MAKE anything anymore. If what you want is for your favorite creators to STOP making things, then by all means, keep insisting that they run their own store.
your own webstore = small boutique crammed down an alley downtown
renderosity marketplace = mall

Thread: FLYING SIMULATION CAMERA | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
each camera has a setting in it's "properties" tab for animating. Just check the box or leave it unchecked. I usually turn camera animation OFF, since I make mostly static images.
Move a camera in a frame and it creates a keyframe. then it tries to animate to follow.

Thread: My First Freebie - butterfly tattoos | Forum: Freestuff
As I'm sure is obvious by now, I posted in this forum waaaayyy too soon. They are uploaded, waiting for approval. My apologies, I'm new at this sort of thing.
With any luck they'll be available soon. Again, I apologize. I got overexcited at the thought of sharing my work.

Thread: OT: Do most male Poser users try at least once to create Dream GF in poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Dream GF no ... idealized alter-ego : YES. I'd share the render but it's from poser 3 or 4 and I'm not putting that drek online.
I am TG and find all of this fascinating btw. :)

Thread: OT: Internet cuts off so can't leave download overnight..All ISPS have this?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm with ratscloset, you shouldn't lose connection on a regular basis with cable. It's definately the ISP's problem. I've been dealing with a dns problem here, everyone watns to pass the buck and blame my computer(s)., but I've had good signal strength for weeks and weeks. Cable is designed to be up %100 of the time. If you get your TV from the same company do you have issues with your cable TV at the same time of day (or night)?

Thread: Skin Texture Resources? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
interesting, a thread about something I've been toying with for a few years now. Procedural skin that only uses maps for tiny details. It started out as a way to use less memory, necessity being the mother of invention after all. I've been back at it lately, especially after frying my brain on BB's posts here and there. I did create an acid burned zombie-like skin with only ONE map. I'd show you the pic but I'm in the middle of a server turnover so my images are offline right now.
I use and old clunky PC and photoshop btw, but I can still turn out exellent work. You try making dragon skin on V3 with procedurals only, talk about experimenting.
Sorry, rambling again. Asta for now, work calls.

you'd need to UN-install first ... those DAZ fourth Gen characters can get tricky.

Thread: Poser 8 freezes!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I know a lot of people will tell you to install poser and/or your runtimes outside of C:Program Files or even on a separate drive but with XP this is unecessary and can cause weird problems. I put everything straight into the default locations. Took me 4 days to organize but it works. ( I just re-installed everything after a crash)
How much power does your system have? Memory & processor power that is.

Thread: Poser 8 freezes!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have similar problems, the plain old fact is that Victoria, Michael, stephanie, etc are just plain HUGE compared to the default content. The bigger the library of content, the slower it processes everything. Check and adjust the following things:
render cache
texture size for preview (it's in the render settings, preview tab)
turn the undo levels down
I set the file search to shallow instead of deep. (I'm almost ready to turn it OFF)
when you installed the DAZ content, you did initialize and update them RIGHT? If you forget those two steps, you'll be in a world of hurt. It puts the update shortcut on your desktop btw.
Hope this helps, I use an older machine running XP myself so I know you pain. Poser 8 runs just fine with nearly 15 gigs of extra content, it just runs SLOW.

Thread: OT - Do you remember life before Poser?...... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Life before poser?! .. what is this sacrilege you speak of? Sketchbooks, pens, and pencils? Dealing with models that can't sit still? I found poser in '98 and never looked back.
