Thread: Samuel L. jackson for Mike2 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
LOL I was a little worried when I saw the first message of this thread. Wolf forgot to use the term "Unimess" and he didn't add his usual "Long Live Mike 2!" tag at the end. OK just teasin. Good job on the SLJ character. Not quite there yet, but making good progress.
Thread: International Beauties Maps & Morphs - worth the $$ ?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Oriental = rugs; Asian = people. :) LOL, just an old joke I heard a long time ago. Anyway I have the international beauties set, and it does indeed come with some Asian morphs. Two or three I think. To be honest all of my Poser add ons kind of blend into one another and after all this time it's a bit difficult to keep them separated in my mind. But from what I recall the set was quite nice. The textures obviously are great. As for creating multicultural characters...hmm yeah I suppose it's good at that. You do get slightly more options compared to just the standard morph set.
Thread: What other sites are there for Poser besides Rendo, Daz, PP, and RDNA? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you like fantasy stuff, check out www.xurge3d.com; not a whole lot there at the moment, but what is there is quite nice. And I'm sure the inventory will grow soon enough. P.S. Poserworld rocks.
Thread: Dual Monitors - This is so cool! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've been setup for dual monitors for quite some time now. The only thing I've been lacking was desk space. Well, that and the second monitor. :)
Thread: A commentary on your gallery | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Gotta give kudos again to Sam...this thread's produced some great pieces, most of which I had never seen before. Planning to take a closer look when I get home from work but for now I'll just say, great work everybody!
Thread: A commentary on your gallery | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well yes, a commentary on your gallery is far preferable to a plague on both your houses. LOL, at least I think it is! Some great looking images listed here so far. Anyway my turn to share eh? Dunno if they're my greatest works of art, but these are the ones I'm fond of for whatever reasons. http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=1003578&Start=1&Artist=GabrielK&ByArtist=Yes My most recent image. I like this one because I actually finished it, despite various small but annoying problems that came up. I also made more use of native Carrara features than I normally do. And I like that big @$$ gun! :) http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=842627&Start=25&Artist=GabrielK&ByArtist=Yes This one is strange I know, but it was FUN to setup. http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=605087&Start=37&Artist=GabrielK&ByArtist=Yes I resisted their call for a long time, but eventually I fell under the sway of Littlefox's evil critters. This is another image that I just remember being a lot of fun to do. And I'm kind of proud of the posing and body language. And I was really pleased with the end result of my photoshopping. http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=576770&Start=37&Artist=GabrielK&ByArtist=Yes Err what can I say, I just kinda fell in love with Kashmira. I think her eyes came out really well in this one. http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=520727&Start=61&Artist=GabrielK&ByArtist=Yes I love my martial arts movies, especially when I was a kid growing up. As a side note, this one almost killed my computer at the time. I think it might have been the set prop. http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=476579&Start=61&Artist=GabrielK&ByArtist=Yes This one is probably one of my very favorites. It was partly an experiement, just to see how many people would view it based on the title alone. And getting my sphere guy posed properly wasn't as hard as I thought it'd be. And I always have a good time whenever I do a humorous piece. Anyway thanks for giving me this excuse for taking a trip down memory lane (and for blatant self promotion)! :)
Thread: Creating Night Elf ears for V3 - Need Help! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The Aiko & Hiro morph packages by Capsces have morphs that would make very good "Night Elf" style ears. Maybe you could check and see if she makes a similar morph package for V3. I don't know offhand if she does.
Thread: Where can I sell my brand new copy of Carrara 4? | Forum: Carrara
Nomuse, you're right. I had forgotten about the .mtl files. It does indeed export the textures. It's been so long since I've had to do it manually. Now I remember what it was that I disliked; those darn transparencies. They did get tedious after awhile. Saving the materials/shaders settings did help somewhat. And after awhile, you did get used to just doing it. Just the same, I'm happy that Transposer came with C4Pro. :)
Thread: Where can I sell my brand new copy of Carrara 4? | Forum: Carrara
FYI it is possible to get your Poser characters imported into Carrara without Transposer. It takes more time and effort to do it that way but it can be done. I had to do it "by hand" back before I upgraded to C4 Pro (which came with Transposer). Basically it involves exporting as OBJ and importing into Carrara and manually assigning your textures.
Thread: Do these teeth look better? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Looks great, much improved from the original render. To me the shading between the teeth still looks a bit too pronounced though.
Thread: When did it become fashionable to hate DAZ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It's been "fashionable" for awhile now. Don't really know why either. But wolf is right; there are better ways to spend one's time and energy.

Thread: Where can I sell my brand new copy of Carrara 4? | Forum: Carrara
re: Poser 6 and C4/Transposer, I hadn't realized there was a thread about this issue. I kind of stumbled onto a workaround. I tried importing my Poser 6 scene and it wouldn't work at first. So I tried pointing it into the Poser 4 directory. After that my Poser 6 scene loaded without any errors. I guess I'd gotten used to doing that so it hadn't occurred to me that Poser 6 wasn't "officially" supported just yet.
Thread: Considering Vue for Poser renders? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I haven't used Vue but I just wanted to pipe in and say that things like GI are generally going to be slow no matter what application you render in. Even in Carrara (which I'm told is relatively speedy), a GI render will take some bit of time to complete, especially if it's a complex scene. Getting back to Vue however...I've seen enough to convince me that yes, it is possible to get some really great looking figure renders. It just works differently than Poser does I'd imagine.
