Hmmm Interesting. I have a PC. Pentium II 450 with 128 meg ram. I also closed any and all other programs running in the background. You know you could be on to something because it still does it when I tell it to use render settings and have those settings for textures, shadows or bumps uncheck marked. JanP

Sure it would be nice to have raytracing and directly editable meshes but that was not what made Poser, POSER. Poser is what it is because it can render really nice scenes with shadows, faster than current 3d object creation/Animation progs. Or, at least it WAS faster. I don't want direct mesh editing as that will drive the cost of the software up and I already own a 3D editing prog. JanP

Renders fine as a still image. I'll double check my scene files. But you know what. it happens on every single one of my scene files and it also happend when I create a fresh unsaved scene. It always happens with clothed figures but never with nude ones. Again, I'll double check all this. BTW it happen when I load the POser business woman and just use the default colors or even when I use the default BW texture too. THatnks for the replies JanP

Uhm Ghost Effects is the creator of Poser, Metacreations marketed it but Ghost Effects was always providing updates directly to us and through Metacreations. Ghost Effects is now Join/associated with Curious Labs. If you bitch about MetaCreations Poser, your bitching at Ghost Effects as Meta never actually did anything to the program itself. It was all done by Ghost Effects and still is. JanP

I agree here to but when I requested a smaller posting size I got flamed out the ass by people who felt their work was far to good to be reduced I mean who the heck wants to waite for a 1024x768 image to download. The only files of that size that I will waite for are if they are texture maps but I think those should be in zips or sits when posted in the free stuff section JanP

What do you mean Viewpoint wasn't a mesh foundary until some weeks ago? Thy've have been a powerhouse for model creation and selling for years, Maybe I am misunderstanding what you said. JanP

Tucows obviously got permission from creators and I'll bet were denied by a few. What can Poser do that MAX cannot? MAX is I think a $3,000 to $5,000 dollar program It is in that range however. Poser isn't trying to be a MAX or a Lightwave or even a Maya. Its purposly a lower powered program that is easy to use. When I first got Poser 2(I think it was) there biggest attribute was non raytraced shadow maps. At the time that was awesome since it was a fairly cheap application and its shadow mapping feature was faster than any program out there. Actully the bigest attribute of all was how fast it was able to render stills and animations with great higher end 3D quality. Poser will not likely be great totally on its own but more of a supporting program to the biggies like MAya TrueSpace, LW and MAX JanP And no. Dunga could not always sell the programs unless the creator said that they did nopt care what was done with them. Dunga would have to ask permission to do that too.

Actually you are wrong Jarek. Yes Poser does have a future and yes it does need work. Suppose this Dunga guy was a jerk to some of the utility builders in the past. It only makes sense that they would not want to be on his page. After all they can post link and site info themseleves. No help is needed but it is sometimes appreciated. Rules are rules and if one cannot abide by the requests of the creator then they should have no right to use or distribute JanP

Also make sure you use the main camera view when resaving your poses. Using any other camera can give awful results such as charcters posing upside down JanP

3dcafe.com has a Chrysler PT Cruiser. It's not poserfied and you have to become a member to get this free model. Membership is $300.So its not exactly free. JanP

The simplest way to do what you want is to inport the P4 charcter into UVMapper and give theentire figure a planar uvmap. Export it. Then, inport it into TrueSPace. You will need to flip the UVMap cordinates actually if I recall. You will see seams. Maybe you can "fill them in withcolor" JanP

to my knowledge Poser 1,2,3,4 on the PC side has never exported quicktime movies. Only AVI. I'llhave to double check that when I get home from work JanP
