Hey Connie. This is just my two cents (for what its worth nowadays).

I think it might make the most sense and probably give the greatest degree of flexibility to the outfit if the default was the standard V4 shape, especially since you're also including several character morphs. It may also tend to make morphs mixing work better if the default is Standard V4.

Take all of this with a grain of salt, I've never designed so much as a simple skirt so I may not have the slightest clue....

However, I will say that when you go to make your promotional images, the more petite characters will look the best in the Stormchaser suit.

Quote - C6 imports the poser bump maps into the shader, but often sets their value to 0%.
To get it to apply the bump, open the shader and click on the top level shader so that all the other shaders are listed as a summary on the right. The bump subshader should show that there is a map and have a slider for % applied (which now probably reads 0). Adjust the slider to the level of bump you like.

You have no idea how thankful I am that you pointed this out. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why my bump maps were having no noticeable effect. (I did find out they don't usually make for good displacement maps)

Another thing I've found about Poser map placement in Carrara shdaers is that if there is an Alpha map from Poser, it will load into the alpha sub-shader channel in Carrara. I've found on V4 at least, you don't want it there.
You need to either move it to the transparency sub-shader channel, or do away with it altogether. (depending on what it needs to do for that domain)
It took me forever to figure out why I couldn't get any nice lighting effects or reflections on her eye surfaces and corneas.

OK, that makes sense.

Is it going to possible for you to host freebies there too, or will the site just direct people to where they can get things?

You will need Transposer if you plan on using Posers dynamic cloth. Most content works perfectly fine in C6pro without it though.

PS: Why would you not use C6 for animation, only illustration. (unless you mean you're not doing animation at all) I would certainly choose C6 over Poser for animation.

I'm glad you popped in to clear up things for us! Good to hear that NGMs will work in Carrara. I'll definitely have to put them on my short wishlist.
One question about the upcoming GND4 NGMs. Will those be a stand-alone product or will they require any of the other NGM sets?

I don't know Posermatic, but I do know that GND2 got her own set of NGMs. There may be a set in the works for GND4 too. Maybe you could work out a trade, your outstanding outfit, for Posermatics NGMs. Couldn't hurt to ask....

I'll second that sentiment! I've been passing up quite a few nice products in order to be sure I can get Stormchaser when Connie has it finished.

I was under the impression that the NGM's were magnet based. Since I've moved on almost exclusively to Carrara6, I had forgone thought of buying them.

I would like to see as many of V4's morphs++ added as will work well with the outfit. (A lot of them work well in concert with GND4 too) Especially for the JCM type movement morphs like Arms Up/Down etc.

That really is looking nice, Starkdog. I'm not much up on the Poser cloth room either, but this dress is quite nice on GND4.

Sparrowhawke's free plug ins are a great place to start.
