RayTraz, in my opinion Poser 5 is great! I've played with similar plugins for 3D Studio MAX and it is amazing that Poser 5 has come up with all these high end features. Like every software it takes time to master plus bugs are bound to show up with all the millions of combinations of hardware and drivers in people's computer, this is Poser 5 but the ammount of new stuff is so vast it feels like a whole new software. The important thing is that Curious Labs is working hard in updating the software and getting rid of bugs. As long as I see service paks and fixes taking care of bugs that people find I'll feel like the money I'm giving Curious Labs for my upgrade is money well invested.
Thread: Hair Room, what am i doing wrong??!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The model I'm using is Posette. I selected faces directly from her skull to shape the whole scalp in one group. I see I should have been more creative and divide the scalp in groups. Another problem I had was when I was styling the hair by pulling it down it was going thru the head, specially the top ones. Is there a way to prevent the hairs to cross the head by using collision detection while styling? That would help a lot.

Thread: Fire Fly Renders! You gotta see this! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Do you HAVE TO use Fire Fly renderer for the dynamic hair to show?? I've just started experimenting with the Hair Room but this thread has me worried. I rendered my first effort with the Poser 4 renderer this morning but only the guide hairs show. Fire fly takes hours on my low-low-end PII 400MHZ with 386 MB of RAM. I rendered one frame with Fire Fly last night, left it overnight but forgot to check "show populated" so I got the same results I got this morning with the P4 renderer--only guide hairs.

I agree with everything said here. Poser 5 is a gem of a program!! In many ways this version is almost a Release 1 because of the high end multiple new features it is including. We used to have just one room, now how many more we have: 7!!! You have the right vision, Kupa, stick with it. Keep improving the software, squashing bugs. I would try to include 3D hardware support in an upcoming patch, but again, you guys have the groundwork for something great, just keep up the great work! Thanks to you Kupa, and to all the hard working people at Curious Labs!!

Oh, one more question, where can I find a KVM switch? I'm in Florida, would Best Buy or Circuit City carry those?

Nerd, What makes the Asus P4T533C so appealing. I'm asking because right now I'm debating between buying a system with this motherboard or a system with Asus P4B533 P4. I'm inclining more to the Asus P4B533 P4 because memory is cheaper and I might be able to buy it with 2 Gigs of RAM, while for the P4T533C to get it to 2Gig RAM since it is Rambus it costs as much as the computer itself.

no because the suit doesn't use morphs. If you make any morphs use specific names like "chest1-heavy" etc.>> That's good to know. I used the Tailor to morph the suit to Muscular 4 and some other dial modifications but the results are not too slick. Lots of geometry intersecting each other.

I should have explained that I already linked this runtime from its current location at an almost full 9 Gig hard disk. The purpose of moving the runtime to the Poser 5 hard drive (an 80 Gig) is that I want to free some space in the 9 gig hard drive.

I run it in a PII 400 mhz with 386 mb of ram. Its slow but for now I cannot upgrade my computer. Hope to do it in a month or so. I wouldn't run in in Win 95, 98 or Me. I run it in Windows 2000. I'd say if you run it in a low end machine like mine, you need an OS that has a more robust memory management like Win 2000 or XP.

Jackson, I rendered Mike 2 fine in my system, a puny PII 400 MHZ. I used the Poser 4 renderer and I tried to reproduce your bug by rendering in all the options available, render to main window, to new window, ignore shader trees checked, unchecked. Its working fine in my end and it renders a lot faster than Poser 4 I think.
