Thread: Trying to achieve good water | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yea, I was trying scaling, but I was scaling the bump along with the Fractal Sum node, and it was getting me just rougher seas, when I was looking for a lake.
Scaled the fractal sum up, and left the bump at 1, and now I got it, or at least good enough for me :) Good ol' trial and error!

Quote - On the preview light, in order to make it fast, also uncheck shadows, so they don't get calculated.
Good tip, updated, thanks.

Render Settings are same as in page 1, BB post "Posted Fri, Apr 3, 2009 10:15 am, Edited Fri, Apr 3, 2009 10:16 am" (checked and double checked)

Perfect, and I can save it as a Light, called "Preview Light" for easy use. Thanks!
On a side note, my first guess was that I could uncheck "On", but leave "Include in OpenGL Preview" checked, and this would do the same. Seemed intuitive enough! not...
Thanks again!

Just this went prime and I remembered this thread (...'cause really, how many times does someone ask about Lederhosen?)

OK, in the preview, I do see what you mean...as I move the ball through space the pattern is changing, so unless the ball/rock occupies the same exact space, it will have a different pattern, thus shape.
Makes sense...but it still rounds out the ball. Wonder if thats a bug.
EDIT: X-posted...reading yours now...
Yep, thanks that worked, changed the Cloud Node scale down to like 0.1 and got small version of same.

Hey BB,
I obviously simplified this too much, by just hoping that checking the box for Global Coordinates on the cloud node going into the displacment would do what you are saying.
The rock on the left, is with that box checked, the one on the right is with it unchecked. It seemed to have just smoothed the "ball" primitive back to a ball?
I guess I really have no clue what you meant to do there? Could you give me a little nudge?
Thanks!

Which, of course, are the best kind of installation instructions! LOL! :tongue1:

Thread: which figure is the more enjoyable to work/play with? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I am in a similar boat...but I am slowing my Poser time down, and I am trying to take more time, better quality. :) Stop on a scene for a day, come back later, take a fresh look, etc. Also decided to only do stuff that everyone can enjoy.
Anyway...I was going to get Skyrim...but they never had a sale good enough prior to GW2 release. Can't speak for diablo...
GW2 is pretty awesome. The scenery is really great, the mechanics are similar to GW1, but the crafting is cool, and I have yet to try the World versus World...which they say is great. I recommend it.
