Thanks, Sphinx. I've tried all those things. I can import with Native import, but transposer will just not work. The more I check around, the more I see that this is not an unusual issue. It seems to be fairly common. I'm sure someone will come up with something, who knows?

Thanks, Ren_Mem. I appreciate the help. I'm hoping to have time this weekend to explore the options. Hopefully, things'll work out.

I suspect the file may have been corrupted during download. I tried unsucessfully to attempt another download, but was unable to do it sucessfully before they removed the download.
Thanks,

No, I have not tried importing nor opening an empty scene with Transposer. Frustration oftentimes leaves methodical thoughts in a cloud of dust.. I'll have to give it a try.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm using the native importer, still haven't gotten Transposer to work. I enabled light through transparency, but it didn't make a difference. Carrara just doesn't seem to like me or my computer. If I import the file as a Pz3., the eyes are fine, but it won't allow me to import into an existing scene.
I'm growing more and more discouraged with Carrara. It isn't quite what I expected. I've never had this many problems with Poser or Bryce.
Thanks much for your help!

No, I didn't change it to my knowledge. It's in C/Programfiles/CuriousLabs/Poser5, Mark. I believe that's where it should be.. As I said, the "native" importer finds thing just fine. I appreciate the heads up on the Phone Support. That's a major plus. I'm sure it's something simple but obscure. I learned that going into Poser and deleting certain Files in "Lidrary Prefs" will cure some Poser problems. I even tried that to help this problem. Didn't work.

Thanks again, Mark!

I'm trying to import or open PZ3 files. I have tried loading only single figures and I've tried complicated scenes. In each intance, I get the same error message using Transposer. I can import scenes involving multiple figures, (up to nine so far) in the "native" importer, so I doubt its a memory issue. My computer, while not one of the new monster boxes, has always been a workhorse. Carrara does use far more resources than Poser 5, I'll agree to that, but I doubt it's memory related in this particular case.
Thanks to everyone for your help and suggestions. They are much appreciated. I've been frustrated with Daz support in general.  After emailing back and forth with 3-4 day lapse between  e-mails, for 2 weeks over a $1.99 Platinum club item, I gave up. Life's too short, lol. I can imagine how long an issue this complex could take.
Do they have phone support? That's something I would pay dearly for. I know they have limited resources, but it seems unfair to provide weak support over a fairly big ticket item.

Again, many thanks!

Yes, I reinstalled... My system? 1.8 Gig. 512 Ram. I can run Poser 5, Photoshop 7.0, AOL, and several sites on Mozilla Firefox all at once with no issues. Carrara will just not let me use transposer. There are apparently no remedies. No support to be had. Caveat Emptor.

I have not disabled my cookies. I am automatically signed on everytime I visit Rosity. That wasn't the cause in this case.

How does one know what is session ID and what is not? It is a serious flaw in the system. I shudder to think of all the times I've done the same thing before. It could be a huge and costly problem when one considers the amopunt of identity theft going on now.

Hmmmm.... I just went back and looked at the Volume 1: http://market.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?ViewSoftgood=13731&Form.sess_id=47884219&Form.sess_key=1125289644 description which I purchased, and it doesn't mention any certain version of Vicki. Oh well, hopefully I'll be able to make something work.

Thanks for everyone's help. That was exactly my problem. This is an outdated tutorial. After I went back and re-read the beginning, it was dated 2000. :::cringe:::: Oh well, >>>>>flaming beginner<<<<<<<< It seems to be working well with the Daz V3 map. I wonder how much trouble it would have been for him to update and warn unsuspecting newbies.....? Thanks again!

I was actually using the Zygote Mil woman texture as directed by the tutorial. It is found in geometries under Zygote. Could that be the problem? And if so, WHY would the man suggest such a thing. Sorry to sound flustered, I'm just bewildered. I was warned in advance that making a texture is no cakewalk. Thanks!
Thread: Best Video Card for Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks. I was a little doubtful that the video card would improve render speed, that was why I thought I would pose the question. More memory sounds to be the answer. As I said, I have a pretty quick render speed, but wouldn't turn down more. I imagine I'd ultimately have to buy a faster machine in order to facilitate more speed. The help is much appreciated.
