Thread: Split Of The Gallery? | Forum: Fractals
If you google his name you might find some more discussion forums where he complains about how bad the world is. Perhaps it's not Matt but somebody else?

Hey Tony, is there anything positive you might say about this Fractal Gallery? It might be worth thinking about it.

Well spoken, Tracey. And therefore splitting up the gallery should be no option... I still like to be inspired by works of others, be it UF like I myself use or Apo or FE or ... which are used by many others.

And what about images made in Apophysis that can be exported in Apo and imported in UF? And I think that the Apo stuff is loosing its glory because the creations tend to look more and more similar. I miss my Apo heroes here and the Apo images that once made me speechless...

Thread: Tried UF *AGAIN*....wish it had the ease of use as XenoDream | Forum: Fractals
I really enjoy that UF is not too easy to be used. A challenge. You are allowed to fight to find your own style. I am proud that my images are the result of work and not of lucky finding only. That gives me more satisfaction than simple instant joy. And the new version of UF introduces some "Apo features" so that a bit more user friendlyness is coming in. Just give it a try again and enjoy working in it. @Arend: The layers are not the problem of UF but one of its best features.

It might be an SQL problem. Just imagine that the table storing data become more and more full. You can get an idea of the amount when you look at the galleryid number that is connected with every image posted here. And tables getting doubled in their size may result in SQL queries running double the time to build up the HTML pages... Or four times...

Thread: Fractal Window Weekly...November27 - December 3! | Forum: Fractals
This FWW now contains a broken link. I had the idea that one might ask the artists whose images are displayed there for permission and then set a database lock against deleting images that appear in the FWW. Then we would be able to enjoy complete FWW's in future. Andreas

Thank you for choosing one of my oldies. And it's nice to see some artists again that stopped posting long ago...

Thread: Reminiscing... | Forum: Fractals
Most of my UF images I don't like any longer are "quick shots" - be it older stuff or relatively new one.
And most of my UF images I like - even very old ones - are those that I spent a lot of time with or re-designed them one or more times...
Changing of taste - very soon I learned that I like textures. And textures developped slowly in UF. Therefore more of the newer images of mine have textures, and more of the newer images belong to those that I still like very much.

I have a lot of my older works printed out on photo paper in 15cm x 10 cm size - there once was a special offer in a photo shop nearby. And from time to time I look at them...
But during the choice which images to let print and which not I looked at all of my old works the last time - many of them did not make it on paper. And a lot is ugly stuff in my eyes now.
I think one never should post images just after creating them. Images must ripen...

What is perfect about this? When I simply write my name as a comment - whom does this help?

Thread: Fractal Themed Challenge...Winners announced! | Forum: Fractals
My congrats to the winners!
When I take a look at the contest entries now, I miss the names of the artists. I missed them in all contests here, and I think it would be a fine idea to make them visible as soon as voting time is over...
