Subject: Do you clean your gallery? And if so, what criteria do you use?

Sometimes I have seen that Renderosity artists have emptied their galleries so that only a very few pages or only the most recent posts remain. Now I have thought I should review my own images here too.
Last weekend I have begun to clean my gallery here from older images or images that were not too "successful". Sometimes it was hard to decide. There are some older images that got a few hits and only one or two comments whereas I thought them much more valuable than more recent posts that get much more comments. Some images were deleted here, because I did not really like them anymore (sometimes I did not understand why I liked them before).
Now my question - do you review your gallery here? And which are the criteria for deleting an image?

Hi Andreas,As of yet I haven't considered cleaning up my gallery space, but if and when I do I think I will start by deleting the images I no longer like, theres a few of them :).Funnily enough a lot of my favourites are the ones with the least comments/hits so will leave them there, as I like them. And hey it's my gallery! :). And perhaps by leaving them in, it will give them a chance to shine. lol

If you intend to use your gallery as a portfolio to get work in the field of graphic design, then tightening it up to hold just what you consider your best work might hold some merit, but if you are a hobbyist, it can be used to show how far you have progressed. Believe it's a personal matter... until recently I hardly posted anything, so my gallery size wasn't a concern, but now as it increases, may do some weeding, but not yet....

One problem is that the view rate of images in pages with page numbers larger than 10 are rarely viewed. And since this gallery cannot be structured and cannot be viewed in any other sort order than by upload time my older pieces are just ignored by new visitors...
But even after a first weeding I still have more than twenty pages...

I find that occasionally someone will want to browse MY gallery, not the fractal one, but mine. I have left almost all of my images there, even the ones i posted before I ever heard of anti-aliasing! It's nice to occasionally look back and see the progress. If I were to weed it out, I would definitely leave the ones I like in there, some of which never got a single comment. You also might consider that you could set up a web page with introductions and galleries and thumbnails, and just link to the gallery here for the large main image. It would save tons of space. ;) Tres

Fractals will always amaze me!

as stotty and hewsan said, I do both ways I think. I tend to keep those images I like the most (who cares about the number of comments!) and those who display the kind of images I like to do the most - kind of my "style", if I have any. In the first cleanups I was deleting those images who had less comments, but then I gave up and started to delete those images that I did that were made more trying to following R's "standards" or "trends" in a specific period of time, but that I didn't like at all.

I do review my gallery sometimes. If I delete something it's because I did not like it anymore,or if something was not done in the right way IMO and I didn't saw it then but do know.
