Hi dolly, as I explain above the file is too big for me to send via my connection (anything above 2MB runs serious risks of being disconnected (I'm in France) and this is 16MB). I can send you a cd, but you'll have to give me an address via the email above.

Thanks for all your comments. I was quite pleased with it, but then you keep on looking at it and this and that could be better... I feel it's been worth the effort now. Why model rather than texture? Honestly because I couldn't model it as a single form, (it's my first) but I thought I could build it up simple primitives (thanks to pnevai who gave me a hand in that dept.) 90% of it was done in Poser. And yes, that is a very very slow way of doing things :-) It's built around Dork (P4 man) but it looks a bit short on him. It will eventually fit a somewhat more stunted samurai character. Thanks for the offer Doug, if you think it could find a place at Sturkwork, send me your address and I'll send it on. If it's a problem, thanks for the thought anyway. I'd have liked to have made it conform, but my joint editor is screwed up and I'm waiting on P5. If anybody thinks that would be a worthwhile project I'd be happy to give them the model to do what they liked with (though free non-commercial use would have to be maintained).

Hey, I've seen people with eyebrows like that! Ah... just kidding! If I've been picky, it's because the overall effect is well worth the tinkering. May she could have some melanin in her nippls too! BTW nice hair.

Hmmm... doesn't that run a risk of the overlying and underlying textures not matching up? Seems a lot easier to work with than mapping the whole head though. Thankyourenapd. Might I suggest MrGorf, that you use the grouping tool to asign a new material to the cheeks - it may avoid the distortion your freckles are experiencing. I thought of that all myself - I did!

Here's how to use waves. 1. Select object, and hit Create Wave. 2. Move that little round bubble somewhere near the thing you want to wave at. 3. Try to figure out which way is up for the wave, and discover that waves aren't big on upness. 4. Twiddle with all of the dials trying to figure out what on earth they do and discover that they are linked to a random function that had no earthly correlation with your actions. 5. After several hours of frustration arrive (by chance) at something that resembles quite closely what you want to do... if you just move it up a bit. 6. Remember step 3, just as the wave warps out of all recognition and you moved your camera so can't use undo and what was the dial you just moved anyway... 7. Select the magnet and press delete. It doesn't look to bad like that anyway.

She is very, very freckly! Don't get me wrong. I like freckles (especially these ones). But is she not a little over-freckled. A frekking wreck of reckless freckliness, is certainly going too far, but she is spotty! Does anyone know of a way avoid the distorion on the cheeks apart from remapping the head?

Click on the link above. Also check out the free section for katanas - a touch deadlier than your average boken but if your not putting the character in armour, he might easily be doing katas.Thread: How do you add textures onto your Poser character with ONLY Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Melanie - You don't want to know how long I spent clicking buttons till I figured that one out! And shadowcat, if you ever learned anything by reding the Poser manual, you are a better cat than I.

The problem I guess your having is that after creating a new prop in poser, the texture you are applying in the materials editor isn't being applied! Select the object you want to texture, open the group editor, Select All, for each material group and hit Create UV map. If you haven't created a UV you can't texture it.

It should be opaque when you render. the GI helmet is the same - Don't know why! Makes it easy to position though.
Thread: HELPPPPPPPPPP !!! :( Lip Map Problems | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Looks like nothing in the world to me so much as a lip texure superimposed over the lips on the original face. Are you copying/dragging the lip layer to a new image (where it might not be positioned correctly), or are you hiding layers and saving copies (so the lips don't budge)? What seems odd is that the shape of the glossy lips is so different from the lips of the underlying model which undercut in the middle as well as he overlap you mark. If you're sure the template isn't moving, why don't you import the obj file into UV mapper, just to be sure the template is right? Sorry - don't fee like I've been very helpful.

Thread: Bump map | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Remember though that the bump map is going to treat all dark areas as low, and light areas as high (or vice versa). You might want to make some changes to your greyscale image as the texture map rarely coincides exactly with the bump map you want.
