Thanks for all taking the time and write a reply.
So far I learned that most of you already made the jump to Windows 11 and/or also purchased a new computer with Windows 11 pre-installed.
In this case the need for a Linux native Poser version is practically non-existent.
I really don't know what to choose. I made several upgrades to my system over the years and it runs pretty well. Despite the fact that the whole PC is almost 14 years old now with a first generation I7x CPU Poser 13 works and renders surprisingly fast. To retire a perfectly fine working system just because Microsofts support expired seems counterintuitive. Since 2025 is not next week, I don't have to make that decision right now, but in the long run I have to.
Thread: AI as part of the Poser platform? | Forum: Poser 13
@Y-Phil
I don't understand, what is A.n-I? Is it just a typo? I doesn't want to polarized with this thread, or make people angry. I just wanted to see how far AI is incorporated in your workflow and if you want to have a AI component build in to Poser.
I'm not a fan of what AI is used for right now. But I get the general idea of it being useful in clothing or hair simulations for example. Thanks again to everyone here involved. So far I take your answers as a yes to AI, but more as additional tool, not as a substitute for Poser.
I hope we can get some more voices. Those images above are very interesting. If it doesn't get in conflict with work in progress secrets, it would be helpful to know what part of the workflow is made with AI and how do you decide if and how you get AI involved.

@ssgbryan
I agree with you on the point you made about the intelligence or the lack there of in AI, but I can't draw the connection between the pin up artist and the rise of AI I use Poser since almost 20 years now, creating erotica most of the time. Since the rise of AI I have seen a lot of pictures done with it and it became clear pretty quickly that this pictures are boring and not very original. They all look the same. I do think AI is dangerous because it is a shortcut to circumvent all the hustling with building the skillset an artist needs to create stuff. The other thing is, in my opinion, that AI was trained by grifting material from the internet without asking for permission or even paying the creators of that material. And it is very much likely that this practice will continue if we use AI more often.
But thanks for sharing your thoughts on this topic.

Thread: Heels or not? | Forum: La Femme 2
First things first, the outfit you made looks really good. Casual but in not boring. I eager to see the final version. The form of boots you made don't really fit to that outfit, at least in my opinion.
Since this outfit is something for the more sunny, warmer days in the year, I would vote for flat sandals. If Heels are unavoidable, I would choose wedge heels. They are my personal favorite form of heels, from the esthetic point of view.

This looks pretty similar to the smart content folder inside DazStudio, right?
I always found this feature great.
You choose your base figure and all the items, poses, textures and so forth are right in front of you to choose from.
I did not know that Poser can do that to, to an extend.
As far as I can see it from your example, the Character Folder contains materials and Poses of hands and body in addition to the figure, right?
Can you also have props stored there as well? This would mean, you don't have to bother with several other folders if you create new content.
Seem very practically and straight forward to me.
Thread: Import HD morphs | Forum: Poser 13
I would recommend watching the YouTube from a fellow named Tony Vilters.
He described in great detail how to handle poser geometry, exporting it from Poser to Blender, sculpting HD morphs and backe them onto the original geometry in Poser by using the morph brush tool. Very informative stuff, unfortunately the guy has vanished, but he was kind enough not to delete his videos or pull his channel entirely. The channel name is Tony Vilters.
Thread: Microsofts new EULA and what it means for creatives. | Forum: Poser 13
Thanks to all of you who have spend a few minutes and wrote a statement. For me as a German, born and raised roughly one generation after the end of WWII, outlived the separation of Germany, I'm always looking for attempts to censor art, book banning and stuff like that. This are early warning signs of an upcoming fascism of sorts. Interesting opinions you brought up. I will definitely think about some of the countermeasures you mentioned.
Would be nice to have futher discussion on this, or related topics here.
Thread: Microsofts new EULA and what it means for creatives. | Forum: Poser 13
Andrew_C thanks for sharing your thought on this issue.
Sure, killing all connections to MS online services could be the obvious answer.
The new rules in said EULA mention "hate speech" on social media platforms and the creation of "pornographic content" on windows os and distributing of "pornographic Content"using MS services, which would include the Edge Browser for example.
The question is, what qualifies as hate speech or pornography and since when is Microsoft a branch of the justice system?
My concern is that this will have an impact on artists expression and people who are critical on social issues. The knowledge that one could risk to be flagged and even banned from the internet, because of a text or picture one produced, that was misinterpreted by a AI System, will hush some people into silence.
Some commenters on YT and similar platforms are speaking about the end of free speech and the freedom of expession.
I personally think that is a bit over the top, but that there is a company with such an monopoly and market share in the most important business on the planet now being able making decisions on that scale without judge and jury involved, is rather remarkable.
Thread: La Femme 2 Lite Now Available | Forum: Poser 13
I just downloaded LF light and run some basic tests. The overall appearance is really good, the bending is good, some of my former complaints about the neck/head bending are fixed in the new figure.
The new face manipulation is really next level! It looks almost like Blender's face rig control. I like this feature very much! I think this figure is a huge step in the right direction for Poser. As soon as I can afford it I will buy the Pro version and start creating some clothing items and such. Congratulations to the developers involved in this. It was worth the time we spent waiting since LF 2 was announced!
Greetings from Germany!

Oh yes, all the money I spend in the two decades...actually I'm quite happy not to be reminded of that fact on a regular bases ;)
I'm not a programmer, but looking at the structur of the Database, I can imagine building something similar in Excel or Calc.
Would be cool to have a scribt that connect's the Library of Poser with this Database.
If I remember correctly, Poser does create an inverntory sheed (ContentLibrary_9.db) of it's librarys and provides meta data of products in the details tab of the library window, right?
Thread: A suggestion, if I may? The Library is littered with double's.... | Forum: Poser 13
Wow! Just Wow! That is a hell lot of work, you put in there.
Okay, for this to be the way you run this, you had to come up with this kind of structure on some point in time in which the runtimes were significantly smaller, right? Otherwise to put all this stuff in the place where it belongs, would be a very time consuming task, right?
I assume your runtimes have grown over time, item for item.
A few years ago, I made a similar approach, putting all the figures into seperate runtimes, including poses, clothing and such. But I desided to merge those runtimes into one, because I fund it rather difficult to deside on each item where it should go.
There are several items who are meant for two figures, like poses for M3 and V3, or hair that can be used for many figures. Some of the very old items came with textures who wasn't properly named, so I had to search for them in several runtimes manually.
But I think your way of managing your runtimes is interesting.
I'm curious, what product do you use to create this database?
I know there are many scribts and tools for Poser out there.
I don't use most of them because for my workflow I don't really need them, but this looks very helpful.

Thanks so far for the reply. 85 Runtimes? That's a lot! How do you keep track on what is inside of them? Unbelievable! I think I was misunderstood in part, sorry, as you probably know, English is not my native language.
I don't want to delete the Runtime folders named Download, Purchased or Include.
I will give you an example of what I meant.
After the blank install of Poser 13 and the download of the included content, there is a LaFemme folder in the character Library, containing a Hair folder. If you open this folder, you will find a folder named OOT. It contains a conforming Hair figure.
At the first level in the character folder you will find a folder named OOT as well, who contains the very same item.
In the material folder the different skin shader for LaFemme are inside of the LaFemme folder. One of them, the default one, I guess, is also directly in the material folder listed.
That's the default, before I start merging the doubles. I find this a bit confusing, that's all.

@Okhi
Sorry for that mistake.
I have watched the video again and you said that you would explain how to make the calculated Simulation manually, which you actually did.
I surely had to listen closer, for I am not a native english speaker, I sometimes just get it wrong.
