From a vendor point of view, I can assure you that DS sells 2:1 or better over poser. I release products (not here at renderosity) and DS hands down beats poser in sales. Now, if Poser had a free version for people to pick up on, maybe a limited "render" only version without all the bells and whistles, Poser might pick up a larger share of the market as I firmly believe it is way easier to use than DS and with Firefly renders, you don't have to wait hours and hours for a final render.

Then navigate to the folder where you saved it and change the .cr2 to .pp2. Open it up in a text editor and find the 2nd instance of actor BODY. Below that you will see many entries. If you compare the .cr2 and .pp2 you'll see the .cr2 has "parent UNIVERSE" whereas in the one you saved and changed to a .pp2 it has "parent head:1" change this to "smartparent head:1. Resave and open your .pp2 in Poser. The .cr2 will come in and be parented now - no need to conform.
Hope this helps!
Kalypso! Genious, that did the trick. I made a copy of the .cr2 and reworded 'parent Universe' with 'smartparent sled:1' (sled is the part of the base figure I wanted it parented to). When I brought the modified part back into the scene, it snapped into correct position. THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

You can add folders to favorites except you need to populate the folders. If you are suggesting adding a populated folder, sure that would be neat.
I am talking about a populated folder. I make content, so when I'm working on my product promo, I have to go to that folder a lot to render all the parts/pieces. I don't want to have to click on one of the several parts, add it to favorite (in which you make a subfolder or however that works) one at a time. I want to be able to click on a folder in the left column and add the whole folder to the favorites. I have multiple runtimes and it sucks to be in one of my external runtimes, have to pull down the runtime list, go to the one I want, then dive down the folder I need in it. If it was already in the favorites, boom, no need to keep switching back and forth.
Thread: Poser 11.2.307 suddenly keeps crashing. | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
That's okay Structure. I appreciate your help. The first time I uninstalled, it was just a windows "basic control panel uninstall a program". The second time I uninstalled it was with the Geek program you suggest. I also deleted the poser pro temporary cache folders, etc, out of the users/appdata folders. I even deleted some things out of the registry. Funny thing, after all that, the program still had my serial number and last cached renders. An uninstall does not seem to get all the info scattered around your hard drive.
On a good note, I found that my problem was in one of the actual character folders itself, not the program. I uninstalled the folder/product, and reinstalled it. It seems to be running stable now. After looking in that folder though, I cannot figure out what would have caused the problem.
Thanks again for your replies and help though, it's very much appreciated.
Cheers,
Davo

Okay, I've uninstalled poser, also the appdata files from user folder. Did a fresh install. I do not get asked for my serial number or old serial number. Is this normal? Poser is still suddenly exiting, sometimes with a crash data dialog box, sometimes without. Who do I contact for technical support? Is SM still the go to people or Bondware?
I need help.

PC version. Nothing has changed at all. Was working fine for so real days, now it just winks out back to the desktop, no messages, no errors, just instantly is gone. No windows updates, no graphics card updates, nothing.

Thing is, when I do a search for those missing files, they aren't on my hard drive, even my backed up installation doesn't have them.

Thread: New Poser Wishlist | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Don't know if it's been mentioned, but here are a few things I'd love to see added to Poser:
Being able to turn on and off the visibility of items either based on grouping or layering. For example, being able to assign an object or figure to a base layer that can have it's visibility controlled with a click of button. Not sure if this could be implemented into the hierarchy editor or not. That would be nice.
A "back" and "forward" button on the library. Lets you go back and forth to previous and next libraries you were just in.
A "delete" button in the library, gets rid of a folder entirely. I know this isn't 100% efficient since it doesn't get rid of the associated content, but it would be helpful to some people.
Improvements to the toon outline feature on the renderings. Instead of 'thin, medium, thick' options, have a percentage from 1-10 or 1-100 to more tightly control the thickness to the added lines post render.
Please don't delete the toon outline feature, it's one of the main reasons I don't make a switch to DS. Please don't do away with firefly. I like it's speed and simplicity. I'm not one of those "photo real" fanatics. I like graphic art.
Just my 2 cents. Cheers, Davo

Hi, Thank you for getting back to me so soon. Can you please just delete the purchase, I'll try it again and see if it goes through properly :-) Thanks, Davo
Thread: Purchased poser pro 11 upgrade, got basic poser 11 | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
ohhhh you are correct! Thank you for that tip. I deactivated the license then put in the new serial number and also provided the old serial number, then it came up as poser pro. Wish there was some kind of documentation or note to do that. Thanks so much, Davo

I suppose we've all come a long way from NVIATWAS and..... wait a minute... no we haven't.
Once the whole group think was to do a NVIATWAS like Frazetta did it, but now, sadly, it's come to doing a NVIATWAS like it's photo-real.
Thread: Poser libraries don't work anymore | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Don't know if this is relevant anymore.
I am using Windows 7.
I had the same problem with windows automatically installing IE 11. To remove the install of IE 11, you can go to the control panel / programs and Features / then on the left side of the screen you will see a "View installed updates" , click on that and you will now see all the Microsoft Windows updates installed, not the programs. It takes a while for all the updates to appear, so be patient. Scroll down and Under Microsoft Windows updates, you should the update for IE 11. You can uninstall it and it will roll back to IE 10. After IE 10 is restored, open IE 10 and click the "Help" menu and then "about Internet Explorer 10". You will see a button for "Install new versions automatically". Uncheck it so it won't update to IE 11 again. This will eliminate the need for you to restore your computer to an earlier date and losing any data associated with it.
Doing this was able to restore my library in poser.
Hope this helped somebody.
Cheers,
Davo
