Thread: smoke in bryce? | Forum: Bryce
Welcome to the forum derelttil.
For clouds, create a ball, then give it a 'volumetric' MAT. Copy the ball and place it slightly lower the the original; and make it slightly smaller. Repeat the same process till you have a string of balls all slightly getting smaller, and then render. You might need to adjust the MAT a little, and bear in mind that it will take a long time to render.
Another way is to us a 2D plane and apply a smoke from a chimney picture to it, and placing that in your scene. This will look more realistic maybe , and render so much faster.

There is one scene in the teaser that reminds me of another place that exists in the game Guild Wars. Top pic is from the movie.

Another SciFi movie that keeps up with tradition, the effects seem to make up for the script as usual......

Quote - now, the question I have is; do you have 24 hours to install this? I downloaded one for their site, then tried installing it a month or two later, and it didn't go...
I believe you have answered your own question.

There is an easier way, but thanks for going to all that trouble. There should be something in your moderator tools, if you have such access....
For future reference, have a word with Admin, as I remember it from when I moderated another forum, it was fairly straight forward, but this is a different style of forum, so not sure.

Quote - Isn't IrfanView better?
Maybe, maybe not. But this thread is only concerned with one particular app that some people might like being informed about.

Just depends on the size of the file you're trying to build/render.
As yet, i've not had any problems with anything i'Â ve rendered, and my renders are known to push Bryce to the limits..... not that i've used Bryce for the last few months.

Quote - Wouldn't Bryce 6.5 be a free download for the users of 6.1? Does the 6.5 manages better RAM? I have 4 gigs would that be enough to handle scenes on B6.1?
One would expect so but there has been talk of making it a payable upgrade. As for the specs of 6.5, your guess is as good as mine, Daz is keeping tight lipped about it.
I have 4gigs of ram and Bryce 6.1 runs fine on that.

Quote - Â Sound like they're getting ready to maybe give us another version ?...Don't companies sometimes do this before announcing a new version.. ...
Yeah...Version 6.5 Bobby, mostly fixes upgrade. There won't be a version 7 for sometime yet, unless Daz are really holding back, but I doubt it.

Confirmed, just bought the magazine, and sure enough, there it is on the cover disk. Since I have an upgrade of 6.1, it's nice to have a single install package.

You might want to hold off spending your money as I believe Computer shopper, well at least the english version is giving away Bryce 6.1 free. This I heard from Daz3D forum.
