holy cow man that is cool. i've just gotten to the point where i know what you are talking about. nice, nice work around. and you know, not such a chore to keep the joint editor open.

by the way nancy, what is that fix? beyond the scope of this forum is cool, but where is the discussion on that? that would be really interesting. gracias

limb kits is a really good idea mogwa. like replace body part with prop, except another body part with different rigging. would be really cool if the replacement of the part could be animated.
i also think a lot of this could be cleared up if we could animate the joint parameters, like sliding the zones and the joints around as we need them. unfortunately no keys for them : (
the limb kit idea could make that sorta possible though. just same limbs with the different parameters, switch out as needed. wouldn't be a smooth, but would probably work pretty well i think. i never did a replacement though...does the joint that was there insist on being the same?
another possibility could be that the body parts are actually always there, but are hidden until needed.
maybe the switch in geometry could be handled the same way the "genitals" morph is. actually i guess that probably is not animateable either though....so would have to be transparency.
good ponderings on matters that bug the h@$$ out of all of us.

excellent. seems like a lot of environments offered in marketplace are pretty (unneccessarily) high poly.

i think just the base does not ship with the actual morphs, you gotta get the morph package for it

if you are making the animation slower, use retime animation keys. in p5, under animation |retime animation. don't know where it is in p6 though

Thread: How do you animate without body parts continuating on their own? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
i believe you are experiencing overshoot of the curve. try opening the graph for the bodypart and you will see what is going on. they are correct about breaking the spline to fix it. you can also strategically set keys behind or in front of one another to help tame the curve yet keep the smoothness of the curve. when animating, always keep an eye on the graph, overshoot is super common. also realize you will need to have some parts curvy, some flat, and some breaks. but the graph will be your best friend in animation.
acutally just checked out phil's tutorial, good stuff there, make sure you do that

Thread: anyone know of a way to animate joint parameters, matspheres? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
matspheres are a way of controlling the falloff of the zones that bend the mesh at the joint. within the green zone, the bending effect is applied absolutely. between the green and the red zones, the effect falls off. it's pretty touchy stuff, but works very very well. if you want to see the spheres more correctly, fuaho, change the element display style to wireframe.
