Welcome aboard. Although there isn't further development on Poser 12, it is a good starting point to get your feet wet again. As for Poser 14, there isn't a definitive release date, but whenever that happens, there may be major advancements and changes. Right now, Poser 13 will still see occasional updates to fix or enhance existing features; maybe introduce some smaller advancements. I would suggest getting acquainted with Cycles and physically based rendering if you are interested in creating realistic-type images. Peruse the forums and engage in the discussions. There are plenty of helpful users here willing to answer questions and impart the knowledge they have. Again, welcome aboard and enjoy your stay.

You don't have a map plugged into the Displacement node. Also, this is a paid product from a Rendo vendor, so you shouldn't post material room setups without permission.

DAZ3D would be the place to check for more realistic animals compatible with Poser. When Content Paradise was open, they had a variety of animals, but in my opinion, they were subpar. Some of those are now legacy content in Poser.

The only modification I introduced into the shader was creating the Displacement map with increased contrast to darken the crevices and creases. Subdividing the mesh will improve the displacement quality, especially with organic figures or props.

This is a quick setup using an architectural prop created for Firefly. I added the CyclesSurface and PrincipledBsdf nodes for Superfly rendering. Notice, the latest version of Poser 13 now includes a Displacement node. Plug the Displacement map into the Height channel and adjust the scale.
The images below show Superfly renders without and with displacement.

The latest and last version of Poser 11 is 11.3.818. AFAIK, the situation you are observing now still happens in the last build. If you want to obtain build 11.3.818, you will need to contact support for a link.

Either uninstall it from one of the computers or make one offline. It sounds to me that you are running Poser 13 on all your computers at the same time.
