Yeah apparently it's by svdl as it creates a directory by that name at some point.
The error is about a variable which is used before it is declared (affectedActors). I don't know enough Python to fix it.

I agree with hborre. Multiple runtimes for the stuff that is used often, and temporary project specific runtimes for the rest.
I have also started converting DAZ's installers into archives as they come which makes installation much less painful after that initial bit of effort. With a batch file to speed up the conversion process it's really not much extra work considering the added convenience later.

Hate to break it to you, but the reviews at Amazon are not much more reliable than magazine reviews. One might argue they're even worse, because you don't know who really wrote them and why. Any reviews in any venue that is directly involved in making money on the product being reviewed is suspect.
Also, quoting one review from any source doesn't prove anything that isn't already obvious. Take any cruddy application and you'll certainly find at least one person who is satisfied with it.
(I'm not bashing Poser 8 but rather the comments made by stepson)

If you plug your texture (or a color) into the ambient channel (or alt diffuse), it will serve as a light source when IDL is used, and will appear to be lit regardless of lights in the scene.
(Disclaimer: I'm a total newbie as far as Poser is concerned, so none of this is guaranteed to make sense)

I'd really like to hear from other people. Does someone NOT see a remarkable difference in smoothness when switching between certain cameras (eg Main vs. Face) when using a high poly figure? The problem is also noticeable with the default mannequin (Andy), but much less so than with heavier figures.
The problem can also be seen using SreeD, so to me it seems unlikely that this is a display issue.

I tested this on another system with exactly the same result.
When using the Main Camera moving about the scene is silky smooth while with Face Camera it's much slower.
And from what I remember, it has always been like this from Poser 6 onwards with different hardware and OS versions. Unless someone can point to a counterexample, I'd say this is a flaw in Poser rather than any kind of compatibility issue.

Validity has much to do with the discussion when you imply that the person has chosen his name and should therefore refrain from calling pronunciation into question. It may well be his real name, in which case suggesting what you did makes no sense whatsoever.

Lundqvist is a valid name.
People like Klebnor who fail to perform even the most basic research should not attempt pedantry. ;-P

Every other 3D app I've used at least gives you the option to rotate around whatever is selected, and does so without slowing down to a crawl.
I hope this gets fixed at some point. Wasn't there a feature request thread somewhere...

This has always been an annoyance, both in Poser Pro and Poser 8.
With only say Michael 4 in the scene, moving the camera is smooth as silk with some cameras (main, aux, dolly) and very jerky with others (eg posing, face). It seems that Poser is doing something funky with the camera rotation when the pivot isn't the scene's origin...?

I know how ERC works, but how do you create a JCM? I assume you export the deformed mesh and adjust it in the modeler, but how then do you factor out the joint movement upon import?
Thread: Poser 8 SR 1... am I missing something..?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It caught my eye because it's pretty much exactly the kind of toon figure I've been looking for. Nice work :)

What is that figure in the screenshot Cobalt just posted?
I must have it.
Edited because the post was totally OT. I actually like the new UI for the most part. It allows for more customization and there's less wasted space. But of course it's ultimately a matter of taste. For me the most important thing is usability, I don't like it when UI designers abandon conventions and convenience for the sake of glitz.
