Thread: How do you clean slides? | Forum: Photography
40 grit Sandpaper will work. haha! Actually there is a film cleaner out there in photoshops etc. for this purpose...many different names and brands... You could probably use rubbing alcohol too. Use a SOFT lint free cloth also available at photo stores. get some compressed air and some cotton gloves for handling.

Very nice image! I think that maybe in the greytone areas would benefit from a very very slight greenish tint....the path and the tree. but just barely tint them. hmmm....not much else I can come up with. Oh yeah...welcome to the best forum on this site.
Thread: Which one? | Forum: Photography
Lens Doc all the way. Everything else is just fun and games and can easily be reproduced with basic photoshop. Lens Doc is the most useful one there. Nice luck!

Nice. I really like the simplicity of the second one. The only thing that bothers me about it though is the little flare at the top. IMO it would be a much stonger image without that small blemish. Nice untouched photos from you.. ; )

Nice image! My only complaint is the dang mailbox in the foreground. Not like you could move it though....talk about getting arrested! Guess that's why there is photoshop, so you can really give your mentor an argument against digital ; ) ps. I also notice a bit of lens flare on the right side in the tree....
Thread: tft moniters | Forum: Photography
If $$$ is not an issue, I would go with the line of Apple cinema displays...one of the best ones out there right now, but very expensive...supprise supprise, it's apple. you can use them on pc's too. a company called formac makes a less expensive version of the apple monitors using the same parts but a slightly different casing. for photography, get as big of monitor as possible, preferably one that is not some cheap ass discount warehouse model. This is so that you KNOW what is inside and can make a reliable calibration profile for it. whatever you get, enjoy!
Thread: B/W prints on A3 ? | Forum: Photography
www.ophoto.com I was skeptical, but after printing some of my images with them, I was blown away. Pretty quick turn around time, and they even ship overseas. They are now owned by Kodak, and print on kodak paper. These are photographic prints...not inkjet....and depending on the resoultion you can go BIG. The only drawback is that you don't have any direct contact with them during the printing process. So make sure your monitor is calibrated, and save your files with the adobe RGB profile.

Thread: Fireworks | Forum: Photography
Fireworks is Macromedias version of Image Ready...WHICH COMES WITH PHOTOSHOP! It is basicly the same program. Photoshops Save for web feature is actually part of the Image Ready interface. Oh well if it works for you, great, glad you found a solution.
