I'm still trying to figure out the XML behind the Poser5 interface. I will let you know when I find the correct place to insert that. :) Phoenix

Right-O. It's a single part prop, not a figure, define some groups with the grouping tool or in another app (UV Mapper works) and you can assign different qualities to those groups. So you could make a tight-fitting top with long flowing sleeves. PhilC also suggeted a use for it in making morph targets for conforming clothes. If you feel like looking (it's quite cool) search Phil's recent posts. It's the one about the cape. Phoenix

You can separate the cloth into groups and make parts stretchier, easier to fold, non-dynamic and so on. I imagine that would do what you're talking, but it's going to take a lot of practice to get the feel of it. PhilC is having a ball with the cloth room, and he might be able to give you a better answer when he's around. Phoenix

Funny, Doc. :) Yes, that'd be right, if it would give me a list of alternatives to choose from in a drop down or some such. On the other hand, that might require too much audience participation. Just an auto-artifier would be better. Phoenix

I've been playing with this as well, Coach. Thanks for posting about it. :) This is really REALLY handy. It doesn't matter that the joint parameters don't match, because the "clothified" versions don't use joints. Phoenix

I know, I know. :) And I appreciated it, although I stand by my assessment of my artistic abilities. Someday I WILL find that "Make Art" button. Phoenix

I'm sorry, geep. :) I'm really just passing along what I've learned in other 3D apps that can finally be used in Poser. I'm good at learning the techniques. As for applying them, well, I won a 6th grade art contest and I bet I could STILL win a 6th grade art contest except they don't let teachers enter. :) I made a typo in the third post that changes the meaning. It ought to say "For instance you can NOW use reflections or shininess on transmapped items" rather than not. Phoenix

Posted it to a new thread. Hope it's OK. I've never actually ritten a tutorial before... I'm usually too dim to figure anything out for myself. ;) Phoenix

K... The image above is really simple. Assign a 2D Image Map to the diffuse slot. If you want to tile that image, reduce the U and V scales in the Image Map node properties. Assign a pretty high specularity, because you want the surface to reflect light. In the Reflection Color slot, assign a Reflect node. You'll find that at New Node -> Lighting -> Ray Trace -> Reflect. What to assign to the Color slot in the Reflect node depends on your scene. If you are using a background image, it's probably a good idea to attach an Image Map node to that slot so that your background will be reflected as well as the objects in your scene. Otherwise your background color is a good choice. If you want only a mild reflection like in my pic, set the Reflection Value down to something like 0.2. A value of 1 will give you a mirror-sharp reflection, and few real world objects have that. Make sure you turn on Raytracing in the Render settings, and see what you get. Hope this is helpful. I am not sure I'm describing things right. This is all new to me as well. :) Phoenix

Judging by my typos, I'd have to say mom forgot my helmet too. :) I'll write you up something as soon as I can, though if nobody else gets to it first. Phoenix
