No, I don't think so. I think what you are looking for is less an explosion than a rocket blast. I would play with the campfire tutorial at Arcana, perhaps combining it with a volumetric light you've added dust to. http://arcana.daz3d.com/index.php?id=42

Instead of applying this mat. file to the fern plant, create a sphere made up of about 30 or so fir trees, with the bases of the trunks meeting at the center of the sphere.
Next, go to display materials, and change the trunk and leaf materials to the explosive fern mat.
Group these trees, and call the group trees.
Now create a point light, placing it at the center of the trees group, giving it the following settings:
Set the color as orange.
The Softness as 0.10
The Power at 150
Set overall Intensity at 100%
Click off the Ring setting
Under Random Streaks set:
Intensity to 80%
Amount to 400
Sharpness 100%
Go back to layers, and select both the trees group and the point light, and group
them, calling this new group My Explosion 1.
Save this group as an object in your object folders for later use.
Don't try to render this in a full scene, since it will take too long to render, instead...
Go to the tutorial I placed in this forum on clipping alpha planes in Volumetric atmospheres, and use it to create and alpha plane of your explosion, rather than a tree. You may have to play with the mat editor settings some.

Add a new point light to the center of the plane, and adjust the lens flare. Save this as a prop, and there you go.

Thread: Question concerning Poser 5 and Vue 4 | Forum: Vue
Vue 4 and Vue Pro both require Mover 5 to handle dynamics. Since I think that's a part of the bundle, you're all set. But remember, it still won't handle Poser 5 materials, just hair and clothe.

As for her butt, just make the figure's hip (and maybe buttocks) invisible in the properties thing in Poser.
Thread: Having trouble lighting my first interior scene. | Forum: Vue
To be honest, even lighting throughout the room won't look realistic. Look around the room you're in, and notice how it's defined by shadows. First, you should go to the atmospheric editor and change the ambient lighting so most of the lighting comes from the sun. You might want to go to the material display and do the same thing to all the mats in the scene. As for the room lights, you can't think of it as putting a lamp in one place or another. Instead, think of it like a photoshoot, with lights aimed at subjects that you adjust. Of course, you can still put small point lights in to give the appearence of a, lamp, lets say, but your real lighting should come from your unseen spotlights. Also, with all the lights in the scene, the default shadows are 100%. Drop them down from that. 60 or 70 usually works for me. And remember, the shadows are just as important as the light. Good luck.

Wow, that works! Thanks. It's amazing, every time I overcome one problem with this little project, another one crops up. Before this it was the cloth room. Hope this is the last one (he said just before the iceberg struck). :)

Thanks. I finally got it working. God, what a struggle. I hope Poser 6 is easier to use. :)
Thread: Nudity in the Vue Tut thumbs | Forum: Community Center
Hi guys. I had someone refer to the fact that there was no nudity warniing on some of mine. Well, I click the nudity thing, but it doesn't show up under the image, ever, although violence will if I click it. So it's not my fault, and I too wish they would fix whatever the problem is.

I don't know. I know that the info on what heads it can use must be stored in a file somewhere, so maybe there's a way to add V3 to the list. Beats me.

The tutorial I mentioned is below, and at the bottom of the 4th paprgraph on the 1st page, he mentions a workaround for getting other characters in, but then leaves us hanging, by not telling us how. I would really like to be able to use V3 in it, if there's a way. http://www.dancingbadger.com/poser/faceroom00.html

Thanks. I'm talking about those inj things in the Pose library (MOrs I guess) that change the shape of the character. Copy the character folders to Poser 5? Or the Pose folders? Or both? I'm easily confused. :)
Thread: is there a way... | Forum: Vue
Those are way cool, BigG. I especially like the orangish one in the lower right corner. I've never been able to get a good explosion out of PhotoShop. You'd think someone somewhere would have created a good filter to do it, but if they have, I haven't seen it. I'm still working to refine the above. I think I might just make an explosive prop in Rhino to replace all those trees. We'll see.
