The Python API is in P5 is pretty much the same as in PP i.e. there is no Python access to Cloth, Hair (except the geometry) and Material Nodes, so unless you roll your own by parsing files, these are inaccessable to scripting. There are probably good reasons why such access wasn't added but it's a shame all the same.

I don't have a Mac, but I gather OSX 10 is sufficiently Unix like that I can probably help.
First step.
Is there a file or files whose name(s) begins with dz_mm under the directory tree where you installed it or under Runtime/Python ?
If yes, then please list them and their locations.
If not, then only DAZ is going to be able to help.

If the DVD Reader is in another machine to the writer, you may need to install some software so that it can deal with the "Drag to Disc" format.
Can the reader handle +R discs ?
More details about the Burner, the Reader, and both machines might help.

It was at Rendervisions in their free section along with more of x2000's stuff (see the post in the Poser forum "Free Stuff" by x2000), but it seems to have disappeared since they reorganised.
Try asking there.

See this thread for links to others that deal with this aspect of GUIs.
The scripts available in the "Free Stuff" are the best reference on how to do it.

Thread: Possible to use Python 2.3 with ProPack? | Forum: Poser Python Scripting
Most likely to cause problems are the changes between 1.5.2 and 2.0 in the C interface
Quote from What's New in Python 2.0, 11 Extending/Embedding Changes
"The version number of the Python C API was incremented, so C extensions compiled for 1.5.2 must be recompiled in order to work with 2.0. On Windows, it's not possible for Python 2.0 to import a third party extension built for Python 1.5.x due to how Windows DLLs work, so Python will raise an exception and the import will fail."
A minor irritation would be the fact that the poser.exe of ProPack explicitly refers to python15.dll (any replacement could be renamed to suit), but in light of the need to have the poser module recompiled to work with the newer Python, it would seem to be irrelevant.
For anyone who really wants to try this, you might be able to fixup the dll references with a hex editor (a whole bunch of caveats apply, so don't try this at home unless you know what your doing), but again it seems unlikely to work for the reason above.
Thread: Can I transfer files directly between my desktop and my laptop? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Once you have the two computers connected you need to do the following :-
Disconnect from the internet.
On the desktop computer, right click on the directory (which can be a drive root) you want to transfer files from, select Sharing, select Share this folder, click OK.
On the laptop, open Windows Explorer and select Tools | Map Network Drive, then locate you the share you created on the desktop machine, and click OK.
You should now see a new drive on your laptop and you can begin to transfer files.
When finished transfering on the laptop right click on the network drive and select Disconnect.
On the Desktop, right click on the shared directory, select Sharing, select Do not share and click OK.
Make sure you have disabled all shares before reconnecting to the internet.
Quick checks to make if nothing shows up are
ping OtherMachineName
If you have a virus checker / software firewall installed you may need to change tweak settings so that it allows this type of connection (and only for the network card you use to connect to the laptop).

You need to have what's known as a Crossover cable to connect the two machines if you don't have an Ethernet hub, switch or router.
You won't need to change any adaptor settings, but you'll need to turn on sharing for the directory(s) on one machine and then map it on the other (do this while off the internet).
Once you've transfered the files, remember to turn off sharing before reconnecting to the internet.
I expect you'll have questions so feel free to IM me.

If the garment if breaking into parts, you could try checking the weld box when you import it. Take a look at the section "About previous clothes" on PoserFashion page linked above. It mentions things that may be wrong with older clothing objects WRT dynamics.Thread: Win the Outfit for V3 for Free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
