The coke machine is the thing I am modeling next.

Yes I plan to do a lift inside as well as an old oil pit with boards on top, but not longer used. You know because it would be under the ground plane and would not drop to the ground properly in Vue.

Hey Bud,

That is one of the reference images I used for the concept. Good eye my friend. If you come across any other images that have good details like this one feel free to post them. I am always open to suggestions, as long as it moves me in the direction of my vision of the era. I work in a weird sort of way. I first look at as many images as I can see on the net or in books, and then borrow from them as well as my memory to come up with what I think is a good look. Work in progress is another way to describe my crazyness.

Any way thanks for the post. Do you think I should change to Gulf to be more authentic?

I am glad you mentioned that. I was thinking of starting a list of maybe buildings for the City Block series.
I will start it off.
Please keep in mind that if I do not use your idea right away it is nothing personal.

Hi Ray, Thanks a lot! I do try very hard to put as much detail as I can into these sets, and still be under 100,000 polygons for the whole thing. That is always the challenge. especially when people are wanting to add other props and figures to scenes. Here is one more look at what I am doing. Really hope to have this done and up for sale by the weekend sometime. regards, Tom P.S. Thanks for being such a good customer!

Here is an image I just rendered in the free version of Vue. just so you can see what the water mark looks like. All the rocks you see are 3 dimensional not just a texture. they were created with a material called an ECO system material. The material stores 3D objects and disperses them randomly. The clouds were generated by the program as well, not an image. Very realistic if you fool with the controls a little. Click to enlarge the image to see the detail. regards, Tom
