That's a real shame. Here's hoping I can grab your stuff before you close.
Sorry to see you go, but best wishes to you.
Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.
As someone who's picked up a lot of your products, I hate to see you go. I think you might be shocked by the glut of sheer numbers of products released in competition for sales if you're going where I think you're going. I wish you well.
The dust settled, thinking "what a fine home, at least for now" not realizing that doom would soon be coming in the form of a vacuum cleaner.
I don't understand why your closing the store ,what's it hurt to just leave it there. there's stuff at turbo that's been there 15 years. You got a top vender trophy .I'm confused.
I do wish you well n good luck .Your one killer CGI Artist :)

So you will only develop for Daz? I hope you got a ton of money for exclusive rights to your models. Sad to see you go, but you have to do what's best for you. Will you still have a poser install version through Daz?
Poser for the moment and Daz in a bit

Sorry to see you go. And while it may be a bit self serving, please tell me everything in your store is on sale right now!
I put it on sale until the end of the month as you requested. :-)
Was not really planning to do so...
25% off

I am curious though as to WHY you're leaving? Are you leaving just Rendo or Rendo AND Poser, or just Poser? If you're just moving over to DAZ, but still making models that will work in Poser, no problem, I'll follow. You do great work.
I was confused but I this is how I'm understanding what's been said. DreamlandModels store is moving to exclusively DAZ. as to the why's to be exclusive .1 If your exclusive with one store they might give you a few more %'s of sells.so in stead of 50% ya get 53%.2 DAZ might not allow there venders to sell else where.3 could be other reasons.
I don't think you can sell any thing ya selling on DAZ any where else.
DreamlandModels is going to start making stuff for DAZ n stop making Poser stuff.
sound like what Stone Masson did

Daz does allow their vendors to sell elsewhere, they just don't want the stuff you sell at DAZ to be sold elsewhere ;). Daz likes all it's vendors to sell exclusive products, not BE exclusive to Daz. If Dreamland is going to Daz and pulling his store here, it's for reasons of his, not because of Daz. At least some of Tom's stuff is still for Poser and can still be gotten thru Daz, yes? :). I'm not tooting their horn, I'm just speaking from experience because I USED to be a Daz PA. That's my only insight into it :P.
And Tony, unfortunately that is true :(. The market follows the better figures and not so much the software. And here we are :( On a better note, Poser still has better free plugins and more of them. Can you imagine what Poser would be without Snarly's scripts or Bagginsbill's Envirosphere? I used Poser for nearly 20 years and I can barely remember before we had Scene Fixer and EZ Skin ;). Saved me so much time and hair pullin', I can't even tell you. Poser has an imaginative and generous following.
Laurie
Not arguing the point of following the better figure, but ALL figures can and should be able to use the same props. If Dreamland, and I am waiting to hear his response if he makes one, is abandoning the Poser format for DAZ's .duf one, I'd just like to know. I'd also be interested in knowing why if he'd care to explain. Despite what some people believe, I don't hate DAZ and still shop there on occasion. Bought some shaders from Vince Bagna just recently for Poser. But if I have to jump through hoops to make it work in Poser, or it doesn't work in Poser at all, then no, I probably won't buy it, and that's been the case for a while now for me.
Yeah, I was very disappointed when the props stopped going to both programs. There's no reason they shouldn't be the same in each program. But the widening gap between the two programs is just going to get wider from here on in unfortunately. I did get TONS of stuff this year in the PA and PC sales that will work in Poser tho :D

I am learning Daz Studio but will still be building products for Poser as well. Just bought Poser 11 Pro if that says anything.

Nothing to do with percent. I want to build products for Daz Studio and that other site is almost all Daz products so that is where I have decided to sell those products.

BINGO!

Not true!

He can do whatever he wants, right?
So the short answer for these posts here is,
I will be closing my store at midnight on the last day of this month unless it happens sooner for some unknown reason.
Not mad at anyone here at Renderosity, as they have been great for the last 8 years.
Thanks to all who are posting in this thread!
Sorry I don't have time to answer each one personally.

Hi Laurie,
Both programs have their merits.
Both programs have a different view of how to handle things.
I would never expect Poser to bend their program so all Daz products work in Poser,
or the other way around.
If you had any idea how long it takes to create over 300 material zones for one of my City Block products your head would spin. :-)
To me the modeling is the easy part, as well as the most fun as I am creating a world in my head and bringing it to life in 3D Studio Max.
It really is a lot of fun!
Then comes the hard part.
Export each of the many parts
Import each part into Poser.
Create a figure
Rig the figure
Create all the materials for that figure which is a ton of work.
Create hundreds of cameras and poses
Then do hundreds of test renders.
Render all the thumbs...
Then promotional images...
I could keep going but you get the idea.
There will be Poser versions
There will be Daz Studio versions.
Simple as that. :-)
Hope none of my posts have been offensive to anyone as my A.D.D. does not allow me a lot of tact.
Regards to you all!
Tom
Nothing to take offense about, far as I can see. Hey, I'm being assessed for autism so tact isn't necessarily an issue. :D
Nobody has the right to tell you where or why you should sell your stuff. You make the decisions, not us.
Best wishes and continued success is all I can say.

Tom, honestly, thanks for the answers. As long as you're continuing to make products for Poser, you'll have my business.
For the record, I'm trying to learn DS myself. And frankly, i find it far easier to make the stuff for Poser, then simply port it over to DS.
No hard feelings here ;). And I know how much work making things for Poser and DS is. I've never done anything near the scope of the products you make, but it's all work, isn't it? ;) The fact that you're still willing to make things for each program is astounding and is appreciated by both sides I'm sure :).

Hi, please let us know on the daz store if the newest products have never been released elsewhere. I have a ton of content and renderosity stops me from buying the same one twice. I have a lot of your sets so I need a reminder if I've got it already or not. I think im up to date so just put something like never before released or totally new or something in the promo please. Love esther
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!

Love esther Hi Esther,
All the products I have released at another store have been completely reworked and some with even more features.
Should not really talk about another store in here to be fair to Renderosity.
Send me a PM if you need a more detailed answer.
Thanks for your loyalty for so long as you are one of my best customers.
Kind regards, Tom
Hi Tom, I had no idea that I was. I thought everyone would buy all your sets. Love esther
