hmmm... good point. :) do you have another modeller where you could, perhaps 'decimate' the blade after it is exported from bryce?

heya; its great, bubba. i agree about the shadows, too. the objects look more or less okay, but her leg looks like it could use a shadow.

heya; when you are working on a scene, there is an option for showing ground shadows. these arent REAL shadows, it's just a projection of the silhouette onto the 'floor' so you can see where your model is. if you want the lights to cast a similar shadow, you need to turn on the groundplane for them to cast the shadow ON. okie? :) (or, you can save the unrendered scene and composite the ground shadow with the rendered scene, if you like.)

oh... hundreds of models were created, dozens and dozens of textures, about a million morphs from traveler, we found out p4 files are pretty much compatible with p3 so you might as well hang around, a buncha people are on a quest to improve the poser man, roy created a tutorial database, and a frog spawned a massive campaign to ban nudity on the poser forum, the old message database was wiped to give us a fresh new start, and a flood of new people joined up. ummmm... did i leave anything REALLY interesting or important out?

umm... i dunno... it worked for me, just now. are you on the frames & javascript version? because i use the no frames/no javascript side. email the capsces crew if you have trouble (its their site) :)

heya; you know, cybor, i was actually thinking of a bigger frazetta axe... with a longer, recurved handle... oh, and have you tried spatch for making blades? theres a good tutorial on that. um... um.. ::looks around for spatch info:: http://www.cableone.net/alyson/spatch.html

aha!! i knew it. :) and just so speculation doesnt get out of hand... that's the version that everybody gets their 99$ discount on, after buying ray dream 5.5, right?

oh, duh... get phillip's snakeskinz1 zip at fun stuff! (and his site is www.planet-3d.com) and while you're at capsces, check out proto man; morphs for the p3 and p4 men. and just so i'm not too altruistic, here... visit my gallery, too! http://people.delphi.com/sphynx/gallery/index.htm

heya; hey.. i LIKE ray dream! (okay, so i dont have max to compare it to...) actually, carrara kinda looks like a cross between ray dream and bryce, but i dont see the environmental stuff (terrains, skies, etc). and... nope, not a hint of poser file importation. i mean, geeze, even ray dream (like it or not) has THAT. to tell the truth, i dont know how they could merge all their stuff together. the paradigms might be too different. right now, each program is a specialist in its area. poser does people, bryce does scenery. you cant expect a scenery expert to be good at people, too.... (unless you gotta wad of cash and a ton of memory to run it in.) it WOULD be nice, though...

heya; low flight.... it sounds like that thing they did where they mapped out the proportions of 'the perfect face.' which was some kinda composite of all the most 'beautiful' people. male and female, it turned out to be the same 'template.' (i wonder if that's available to view on the web....) actually, if they used 2d faces, they may have simply used a 2d morph program. you know, that turns ladies into tigers and whatnot. (yeah, kai's power goo! ;D )

heya; if the mesh isnt detailed enough, you could, theoretically, open the obj file in your modeller, and subdivide it until it is as dense as you want. of course, after you do that, none of the other morphs for the standard figures will work with it. you should go to traveler's morphworld site and see what he's done already. (plus check the morphs on other sites like the fun stuff here, props guild, poserworld, etc.) i would caution against pinning too many hopes on the p4 magnets to do much with subtle muscle effects. i dunno, i confess i'm not so hot with magnets, so i think they're over-rated. have you done stuff like that with them, newc? i'd like to see it. and a tutorial on it ;)
