The easiest thing would be to reduce the shadows in each light....
You could also move the light around with your mouse. this would change the direction the lights are coming from but would not affect the shadows themselves.
if you choose a light, you can make adjustments to it in the parameters pallet....

Thread: Why do eyelashes not actually show up? | Forum: New Poser Users Help
Ok... I'd have expected you to get eyelashes if you applied the skin by clicking an Icon from pose.
Eyelashes generally don't have a texture applied, just a diffuse color and the transparency. They should look a lot like this in the material room...
And just for future reference, the Advanced Material room is just a different (and potentially more confusing) way of looking at this information.

Normally, with a store bought skin, the eyelashes are applied as part of the skin and all you have to do is push render.
(To answer your other questions, the model's eyelash is a solid arc of polygons, shaped a lot like a rainbow. Now, in order to make the eyelashes look realish, we use a transparancy map. This is a simple black and white image that fits the character's geometry... the polygons that your male model is made of. Where the Transparency map is white, the eyelashes appear.)
So... is the skin made for the model you're using it with?
If you click Render from the top menus, then Render Settings > Auto Settings is the blue pointer closer to draft or final?

I seem to vaguely recall that setting a non-zero Min Displacement bounds value in manual render settings would help this.....
from the top menu, please Click Render > Render settings
If necessary, please click Manual Settings. The last slider is Min Displacement settings. Try 0.1 and see if that solves your issue.
Thanks!

Hello.
do you want to make the model's skin lighter or change the lights so that the shadows cast on her face are lighter?

Thread: Anyone know if Victoria 7 will be able to be used in Poser? | Forum: New Poser Users Help
V7 does not currently work in Poser.
According to DAZ's web site, V5 works with DSON...
You'll need to find the CF (companion files) version of V5 and install her to your Poser runtime.
Good luck!

Thread: Cannot find the character I just installed | Forum: New Poser Users Help
It doesn't? I changed that afterwards, manually in the installer, I think. Are there any fixes for this? How mich Vicy can Poser take? Sorry, I am a total newbe here, and seemingly lost a bit of money. So C7 is just for DAZ, then?

You do know Victoria 7 doesn't work in Poser, right?
Did the installer give you the option to install her to Poser?

Thread: Animating the Legs | Forum: New Poser Users Help
Try turning off IK
With your model chosen, Click Figure > Use Inverse Kinematics > Uncheck the option for each leg.
this will allow the legs to move when you move the thigh or calf.
Hope this helps!

Thread: full figure | Forum: New Poser Users Help
Victoria 4 is probalby the best supported figure available. People have been making things for her for almost a decade! But I don't believe she's free, and the majority of the items that support her are also not free.
If you have any version of Poser, there are a handful of free characters with clothing and hair you can experiment with. They're not as nice as the Daz People, but the do fit your first criteria of Free.

If you want shadows, cheek Shadow catch only fir the ground (Object: Props > Ground)

(if you don't want shadows, uncheck visible in properties for Ground.)
