when you leave the set up room it says this figure contains polygons which are not grouped to belong to a bone, i just took it for granted i needed to bone the head billy

sorry angel i missundersdtood the post. i thought for some stupid reason , when you said poser can make up textures it wasn't about the face room. my mistake. i have face gen and it does pretty good faces. as you say though, its a ball ache to get them into poser and working properly. i'll take a look at their customiser though. thanks billy

when i took the facegen head into the set up room it had no bones. it was just a prop. now its a figure all be it one with only the basic neck and jaw movement. thing is maybe i'm confused lmao. but i put a neck and head bone in and the new figure can move independently from the miki body. what i cant seem to do is make the two figures one...any help would be welcome. billy :)

thanks to everyone for the help. i managed to to bone the face lol but i had to parent it to miki's neck and make miki's head invisible for it to work. the new figure created from the face gen head moved with all the preset poses but if i want to move it by hand i have to bend it from mikis neck. is there any way i can perminently attatch it to a body and remove the original. billy

acadia. the tut you menioned worked a treat. i at last am now able to load runtimes outside of poser and use as needed. big big thanks. fixer. i was originally doing as you said fixer. the problem i had was that i had so many files loaded it took an age to scroll through things like poses and stuff this way i can have all aikos things in a foledr, all v3 in another and load or unload runtimes as i see fit. i can still have subfolders for each runtime which is a good suggestion ..thanks. jules. slowdown on startup is also one of the reasons i needed and wanted to structure my out of poser runtimes. this was at the end of a session i can simply click onto an empty runtime i have and when i return to poser i'm at the start up window in no time at all. i know it may not seem much to those who know the ins and outs of poser but the help i got on this was a big big thing. i only hope i can be of help in the same way once i become a little more proficient with it. at least all my time won't be spent tring to sort my runtimes out lmao billy

i was wondering about what sam said re redering double the finished size english. could i do a render at 3456x 3456 or bigger and resize the image in photoshop to get a better quality image. my pc is a toshiba sat 5200-902 pentium 4 2.4 ghz 512 ram i'm using a 200 gb external drive which runs at 7200rpm i was also wondering about large renders...i did one to see how it would look and when i saved it as a jpg i had the task bar in the picture. thanks for your time billy

thanks sam. it never ceases to amaze me how helpful you guys to the noobs. i could do with a little more help if you its okay. i want to have something printed off, the size is 24 inches by 24 inches. the print shop says it has to be in a 72 dpi photoshop format or jpg format. is a render that size out of the question and if not what should my render screen size be in order to get a decent render...again any help will be apprecciated. billy :)

face gen is a whole lot better than the poser face shop at making heads. you can import the head as a wavefront obct and swap the object for the head. ynsaen is right about not being able to manipulate it other then on an xyz axis and bend.it's not too bad if you do the character pose you want first. do any head changes in face gen then swap it in poser. i found because i know nothing really about 3d or texturing that i had to do some postwork in photo shop to sort out the point of connection (the neck) billy :)

art isn't just about putting paint on canvass. it's the product of the imagination brought to life through the use of tools. the tools used can be pencil, paint, charcoal etc etc. the tools can also be poaser, 3dmax, photoshop. the tool is not the art nor is the premade artifacts of the tool. once upon a time artist made their own paints, now we by them pre made. digital tools are an extention of pre made paint. though we may have a figure to use the figure isn't the art, it's the canvass and poser is the paintbrush. now instead of painting a front view mona lisa we can paint her from any angle. we compose in pose lmao. jmo. just look at a newbie and what he produces in poser (me) then look at what some one who's adept in poser produces. look at lord or the rings and other films. a lot of the sfx were done in and with modeling programs. i wonder how the old masters would have faired against some of the guys at pixar. as for better rendering tuts. try and browse the web for rendering tutorials. billy :)
