Its a morph organiser, it lets you put a figures morphs into seperate groups that can be opened and closed to make working with figure easier. For example all morphs that effect the mouth can be grouped under something like "Mouth"( or any other name you choose), eyes under "Eyes", etc.

Nvidia cards have better OpenGL support then ATI. Its possible the Windows 98 OS may be holding you back too.

What is the make and model of the graphic card? Some people with modestly powerful cards that worked on previous build have commented that with this build they had upgrade the drivers before the Studio would right again. Perhaps your card was just more borderline then theirs.

Afraid thats all the help I can offer then. I suggest using he the link for the official Studio forum at DAZ that is in the title splash at the beginning of this forum.

Are you using the hair with the right model? Did set the "Fit To" in the parameters to the the model? Are there morphs for changing the fit and shape?
Thread: Poser in Daz | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Yes, you can ues just about anything that works in Poser 4. Magnets and being able to apply .obj based morph targets aren't supported. For a complete explaination how, go to the official DAZ Studio Forum at DAZ's site. Ask and someone will probably point you to one of the beginners tutorials.

I think we are going to need a little more info as to why you needwant a grid before being able to ffer suggestions. As to why Michael (and probably a good many other human models) is nine head tall is that this is the proportions most artist use. I believe Stephanie and David use more realistic proportions.
Thread: getting it to work | Forum: DAZ|Studio
It most likely is the integrated graphics chip in your computer. I say this because I can run Studio quite well on an Intel Celeron 400MHz system with 192MB ram and a primative ATI Rage II 4MB integrated graphics chip that only supports OpenGL 1.1. Before you run out and buy a Graphic Card do a google search for a little utility called Belarc Advisor. Once you download and run it should give a complete report of your computer's specs.
Thread: Daz Studio or Poser 6? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Studio is free so why don't you just download it and see for yourself. You'll still need to find the right textures, hair and clothing though, Studio uses much the same content as Poser 4.
Thread: Hi all! Flohair 2.1 question... | Forum: DAZ|Studio
There are two types of hair. Conforming hair, which is a figure and has a heirarchy (bones)just like other figures. Conforming is the hair that has the "Fit to" option in the parameter settings and will only fit to the character it was made for. The other hair is a static prop, usually located in a folder labeled "Hair" in the "library" folder. Prop hair has to be parented to a characters head and can often be scaled and tweaked to fit just about any character.
Thread: Can a face have two sides? | Forum: Blender
Blender's render engine can use double sided faces but many others can't. If you use the models you make in Blender for other application plan on double sided faces not working.

One other thing you could try is downloading Wings3D, its free and not very large. Wings import and export plug-in seems a little better then Blenders. If they load into it re export it and hope it fixes any quirks that may be in the original. Just use a different name.

V3 imported fine for me. Are you using the latest Blender and did you import from the RuntimeGeometriesDAZPeople[model][model .obj] folder?
Thread: How do I round these edges? | Forum: Blender
If you have a low end system (like I do) it can take a long time for Poser figs to load because of there high polygon count. Then when they do load you may not have enough system resources to do anything with them. A so-so work around is to make images of your Poser figs (sides, front, top, back, and bottom) and use these as references in Blender (ViewBackground Images).
