+1 with original poster. don't ask for details, everything sux.
kill all ads
annihilate all "picked for you"/"sponsored stuff"/"what's cool now" and similar crappy frames since we're all big enough to make our own choices.
and then we'll talk. maybe.
These are good features to have because we want to show you the latest cool images and photos that we think you'll like. Most websites are doing something similiar. You may also do so on your own, but we're also showing you specific images we think you'll like. Thanks so much!
"Sponsored Items" (by Rendo Vendors) and things like "Trending Now" don't bother me; in fact I kind of like them. But as an artist "picked for you" gets my dander up. I'm pretty sure that it's not somebody I know who's thoughtfully picking stuff out for me. That leaves an algorithm which in California fashion is trying to track what I do and make educated formulaic guesses. Ironically the more accurate the formulaic guesses the more creeped out I become. The concept is the antithesis of what an artist - a supposed architect of original works - is typically trying to accomplish.
More and more I feel that Renderosity is trying to follow the latest hot fad, deciding rather than listening. I would like feedback on how sales are doing since the change. It's been about two months. Has interest increased due to the new format? And if so has that interest translated into increased sales? Or at least stable sales? I would respect the changes more if I knew that they were making a difference. I would like to see vendors and fellow artists succeeding. Right now I still don't find it as much fun to browse as I used to and that results in less being put into a wish-list, which is a leading indicator of me likely to buy in the near future.

I agree, Sunbeam.
But it's Sunday, just before noon Rendo time and I'm reading 2874 artists online (First Page, Home). I can't make out how many visitors to the site are showing on your page grab, but based on the number I just saw it llooks like visitors to site are stable or possibly even better than before.
So I think the Lead page is probably going to stay the way it is.

Thank you, nerd for the update! I'm looking forward to the hard edges cartooning as something different. The current renderer is actually good enough for me, I just want faster. But I may take back my comment when I understand more of what you're talking about, if it works on my machine.
Yeah, I agree with above internet comments. If it has an auto kill/deactivation switch like the Game Developer I have to think twice about it. Too huge a negative.
But I want to keep this thread positive about new developments, so no discussion about that. It can be found well enough in other threads.

And, I'll put something I said in another thread here, too. It was an off-hand comment that is probably more appropriate in this location.:
Has anybody noticed that the new sash and color for 'Prime' looks remarkably close to the logo for Breast Cancer Survivors, or is it just me?

There are no prices on the marketplace page. FWIW In a store or catalog I tend to ignore items without prices. One or two, maybe. A barrage, no. I really do not care for the layout. I'm not looking at any of the images on the main marketing page, just for how I can get to the new items, Prime items, etc. and what prices, sizes, models that they are for, etc. the quickest. Just give me the buttons or tabs for what's new, etc. You're making me scroll through lines of worthless images on the marketing page at that point. They do not excite me or whet my appetite. They're just in the way.
Sabby made a pretty pointed comment about scrolling in another thread, so I'm not alone in the scrolling aspect right now.
I feel the main marketing page could still be pretty easily tightened up quite a bit and made much more user friendly.
It's not right yet.
Maybe make a collage of the new items that also doubles as button for 'What's New', "Prime" etc.? Maybe have four to six of them in a line before I have to scroll to the next page/screen, please??
I came to like the summary page that Renderosity had that greeted me before. It could have been tweaked, but it was a heck of a lot better than what is presented now, I feel.

Ditto Sabby on the scrolling.
The only thing worse is clicking through an infinite menu tree.
Thread: How do I uninstall and reinstall word and ppt from the installation CD? | Forum: Community Center
My dad had a similar problem occur and in his case it seemed to be a conflict with the Avast antivirus. There is a known bug with Avast that occasionally resurfaces and prevents office products from saving correctly. Your solution may not be to reinstall office, but rather to first disable Avast, if you have it on your machine, to see if it makes a difference.
I found this thread for you (Note that it continues from 2012 at least through March of 2015 and includes issues with ppt):

FWIW,
Haven't really looked to buy anything recently because I'm still not finding it interesting or fun to browse the site. Way too much work in scrolling is one big reason. Can often see only part of product images at a time is another.
If there is a target device that this is supposed to work well on and that others are using I'd really like to know because it doesn't seem to be my desktop.
Have been spending time reading the forums, however, which I did not do very much before.
Is there any feedback on how sales are doing? I wish Renderosity well.

"Deals" at the top of the page in green disappears into the black and is hard to read.
Suggest make it bold and/or maybe a different color such as yellow.
Similarly the 'white' Marketplace, Freestuff, Galleries, Community should be bold as they turn gray and fade into the title.

I feel 'Markdown' is a really big step backward. It's like telling people to go to a vintage clamshell phone because you can do text instead of that bothersome swiping, and that the clamshell is 'pretty good' once you get used to it.

I was thinking the same thing, Rod.
But I didn't want to say it as I didn't want to discourage folks like Kimberly from offering practical advice when it helps us all. My guess is she already knows and may be experiencing the same problems, and it's a management decision to see if the trade-off will bring in more revenue without significantly annoying users.
I haven't tried the ad block stuff yet, but I think I'm going to..

Thanks, Frank. Enjoyed reading your comments. Appreciate that you took the time to answer my questions.
I'm glad your started the thread. It's honest enthusiasm, and a different perspective than the others.

I appreciate Frank T Standing his ground!
Frank, it looks like you've been on Rendo for almost ten years. Why do you like the re-do? What specifically do you feel is good?
and, if I may ask, what kind of device(s) are you viewing this site on? I know some others have said they use Tablets primarily to purchase items at Renderosity.
Is the site format similar to others you like and are familiar with? (The new site, at its best, is alien and uncomfortable to me on my device, which is a windows graphics station). Do you use any ad blockers to help it load faster (I haven't yet, but may take some of the suggestions by folks in these threads)?
I've been told that the forums are not necessarily representative of all the people that purchase at Renderosity. Are there twitter or FB posts which are different? I don't see what you are seeing but I'd really like to know why you feel the site is easier to use than what was here before.
