Thread: a question about DOF | Forum: Photography
Forgive my bluntness at you clever types, but FFS.... who cares about HOW it falls off as long as it looks good when you take the picture?!? I didn't know DOF could even fall off - surely you have the picture frame upside down or summik?
ROFL.... ;-)

ROFL.... sorry for laughing at such a serious issue guys, but TwoPints comment there brought back memories of the Budweiser advert where Louie says "Hey...my Mother was half iguana" and the little one says "sorry.....I meant no disrespect"..... I just sorta like, well, read it in the same tone... he he he.

p.s. or wasn't the little one Louie? shucks. P.P.S. By the way LostPatrol, I don't think aangus uses crampons, he's a guy.....

I knew not coming on the computer last night was a mistake. Great pic, my only comment agrees with firestorm about the 2 marks. As for your reason for taking and posting the picture, bravo! While we all have issues and closet skeletons, some are trivial compared to others; while child abuse is so common, it's also one that can have drastically different effects on different people. For you to help exorcise your feelings in this way is, imo, very brave, and nice to know you find the trust in us to be able to do that :-) Mike.

Yeah, it looks impressive, and that's for a reason. It takes work to get there... I know you probably realise I was joking, which is good, because I could definately NOT condone mis-use of such a title. Mind, when you earn it I'll be among the first to congratulate you ;-) (",)

The ghost ship is one eyecatching pic! Make the back of the ship a little more opaque so it is hiding the clouds behind it a touch more - give it the same substance as the main mast - remember, you're using objects from the 'real' world, they have to follow the 'realworld' rules. Nearer objects go in front of farther objects.) Do you know how to desaturate the colour yet? It may be worth trying on that one. Desaturate each layer (CTRL+SHIFT+U I think.) and play about with the contrast on each one - I think you'll be able to come up with one hell of a cracking image! (Don't know about how others do it, but create a layer above all the others, select a colour like, sea bluey/green, fill the whole layer then make it an 'overlay' layer. That'll give your whole pic a coloured hue that you change just by filling with a new colour. A dark bluey green will probably look good on that one.) Hope this helps ;-) (",) Mike
