I hear ya on that. The bummer is, I think since that is the default setting, most here don't even realize that is what it says. I think 99% of posts have this on their images.

Richard, That is one I have looked at too. From what I have seen shot with it at the Canon Forums it looks like it does pretty well (link of some shots with it above). The EFs thing is only a drawback if like Dan said you plan to upgrade..Although if you can save a bit more money up, might want to go for the 100mm. Love to see what you get with it if you go for it.

Just don't think this site is the place for Crits. That has its pros and cons. Good to be inspired by nice comments. But a bummer a lot wont know how to correct things they do wrong over and over. This just isn't the place to look for that kind of thing.
I do give crits from time to time, but worry about how they will be taken. I am careful to always say they are subjective and based on my personal pref. And often use a lot of "Sugar" in my comment with it to make up for the crits.

I always wondered about that too.. The rich colors many get. I have found I can get close with some minor editing. But I do think a lot is postwork. Just a guess here.
