If this topic is still alive, as an animator i'll just say don't get anything under i7, 16GB of RAM and if possible get one with a decent NVIDIA card instead of ATI. ATI is fine for gaming but with graphics, animation and rendering it seems like a problem always arises one way or another. idk why that is, but NVIDIA has always been solid. A second hard drive for assets, data and junk. SSD is ideal but expensive. Use nothing less than 7200rpm.

Ooh that's new. ....all this time i had no idea it existed in new Poser versions. The time I could have saved! This could really use a checkbox to mirror transformation on x axis as well. Especially for the hip.

I can move the body but the keyframe plays only half of the movement created.
Have you checked the bottom of the Animation Palette? You can set the play range. For example you can have 100 frames and set to only play a portion. Sometimes I accidentally click this.

I think that post has successfully caused my brain to melt into a puddle. XD
I don't have a problem working with the overshoot. Ive become quite accustom to how it works. Its really easy to adjust curve with a couple edits.
idk about the lingo, but with the end key cause it to act linear, if you just drag it to the left 1 frame it creates a nice curve.
I would hope they fix the several game breaking issues that keep me from moving from 2014 to 11 before they dive into changing the curves.
11 has become less animator friendly imho. Hopefully its only temporary.
EDIT: Nevermind. I just glanced at the first images again and see you already know what Im talking about with the curves.

Woo yea. Im still using 2014 without gamedev features. They broke a lot things while adding features after that version. Some stuff did get fixed, some things are still broken or worse in 11. I'm sticking to 2014 for animation as long as possible or until they fix 11. I really hope they fix some things because I def want to move to the current version. Speaking of which, does anyone know if there is a place to submit bug tickets and feature suggestions?

This was on my wishlist of features for Poser. At my previous job one of our guys made a python script to automate the process so it is possible (I no longer have it).
What I usually do to mirror animations though is just the long and tedius. I didn't think to assign it to a key (f12) that would be a time saver.
I usually bake all the keys for a character use this sequence of keys starting from frame 1. Alt, g, y, s, TAB (repeat). Basically TAB to go to next keyframe, the the others to quickly navigate the menu to the mirror function. Would be much easier to just spam TAB and F12 though. Could get through 100 frames in probably 1 minute or so.
They really should make scripts for these functions and pack them with Poser.
As for saving animations, its easier to just use the built in feature saving your animations to the Pose library. You can drop it on any selected character from there with a few clicks. BVH is also an option but it is more work. I use both methods depending on the source motion data.

The overshoot weirded me out when I was new to Poser. Coming from other 3D animation apps it was quite frustrating dealing with the curves in Graph Editor. Now having been used to editing curves and how to compensate for things years later I would hope they do not change much unless they were to add keyframe curve handles like in Blender. But I think they would need to completely redesign how it works. But im not a programmer so idk. If a change like that would break all my past animation work...many tears will be shed

In most cases I just import bvh onto the character with IK turned off, then select Hip, go to Graph Editor, select and adjust all of the keys on for ytrans. Just eyeball it till the feet are on the floor. If the actual BVH is stupidly offset then you can also just edit in BVHacker.

Thread: 11.2: I'm mildly unhappy about the weblinks disguised as CR2s... | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
Haha I just updated to 11.2 and saw that and thought it was kind of a strange thing to do. I don't usually use the default Runtime for anything so it doesn't bother me. But the thought that came to mind when clicking was: "Ive been deceived!"
They should at the very least give these a different looking icon to differentiate, but definitely a separate file type. Otherwise I feel like this is going to go down a path that makes me concerned for the future of .cr2 files in general.

Ive only had that happen no double clicks. Sounds like weirdness. I have definitely had a mouse go bad before where there must have been just enough gunk in there to cause the button to double click on single clicks. That mouse has since made its home in the trash.
