DAZ had some stuff at one time, too. I never bought any of itmost is either not historically correct or is anachronistic. If you are looking for historically correct stuff, you might want to ask at the Roman Army page. There were a couple of modelers that frequented the site at one time. There's always some hothead spouting. Whenever you encounter this, ask yourself, as an artist and a person, the following question: "Why the hell should I care what they think?" Most of the time, the answer you get will be: "I don't." While all artists want approval, the wise ones know that their own approval is what matters most. ;)

Thread: How long have you used poser and how old when first used computer? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You folks are encouraging, and I need it, right now! :D Nice to know there are other old fossils out there that don't suffer from advanced osteomentitis. ;) (I turned 53 yesterday, but that does not truly reflect the mileage.) I believe that when one stops learning, one is dead. Started using Poser with version 1, still have the floppies. Haven't had the time to spend on it that I'd like (too many other things to learn, too!) My first, personally owned computer was a magnesium alloy Pickett N902-ESlike the ones they did most of the work for the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programs on. (That's a slide rule, a.k.a. slipstick, for you youngsters. ;) My first electronic beast was a Mac SE. (Still in service with a different owner.) "The old that is strong does not wither"

No, don't make him (Apollo) stone texturedmake him gold or bronze. He was the god of the sun, and the ancients painted or gilded his statues accordingly.

Thread: Macintosh OS X newbie needs help | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Don't use both Macinstaller and manual placementyou'll just get confused. Use one or the other. Some DAZ instalers run under OSX, some under OS 9. The OSX installers seem to want to put the runtime folder on the root of your system drive. DO NOT move this runtime into your Poser folder. I find it helps to use list view, open the Poser runtime folder next to the new runtime folder, and drag and drop the files into the Poser runtime WORKING FROM THE DEEPEST LEVEL UP. eg. runtime/poses/v3headstand.pz3move the v3headstand file ONLY into the pose file in the poser runtime. Welcome to the few, the proud, the brave, the undersupported by software developersthe Mac users. Just remember that it only looks as confusing as Windows.... Hey, Ghost of Macbeth! Nice to see a familiar face! :D
Thread: Why no download icon | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Well, a call to your customer service number cleared things up, and it was very odd. Between my failing memory, ;) a cranky Wintel box at work, Mac OS 8.6 with Netscrape at home, things got confused. Still have the cranky Wintel box, but have OSX and 9 on the Mac - much more stable. Thanks for your prompt response!

This is very odd. I have items previously purchased from you. I don't recall ever using another username. Oh, well...
Thread: Opening PC Bryce file on a Mac | Forum: Bryce
I've done the same thing. I think sometimes the Mac system does not interpret the file info properly - the resource fork is there, just unrecognized as such. This can be tweaked with ResEdit or any other file editor. I also think that sometimes the PC file is not saved "properly" and the resource fork is lost. Since PC files don't use it, it won't matter on a Windows machine, but you have to add the fork for it to open on a Mac. GoM (pardon the abbreviation)if you are uncomfortable with ResEdit, there are a number of resources on the web that offer tutorials, or you can ask a Mac type to walk you through it. If the resource fork is missing, ResEdit will add one when it tries to open the file. It will ask you if you want to do this. Click yes. BUT ALWAYS WORK ON A COPY OF THE FILE.
