Good job on your entry manimal, I really enjoyed it and am sorry to hear you had computer troubles. We all do sometimes. I love the images for the writing forum. I feel it is better than a 'theme' of sorts. My only qualm is that they don't allow for more abstract writing. I like the idea, It's a little constricting, but thats okay Keep the images I like manimal's idea too, it would pull renderosity together more as a whole, not to mention promote the writer's gallery a little. There would have to be rules in place for the winner of the image contest however. It wouldn't be entirely fair for the artist to make the image and write the story as well, because he would know more of what it's about. Thats just my opinion.

heh, I work on a laptop I bought from dell about 2 years ago with 256 RAM and a 1 gigahertz processor. Constantly running out of virtual memory and shouldnt increase it more. Didn't really buy it for this type of work.
Thread: CITY GENERATOR FOR BRYCE | Forum: Bryce
Super program, it saves a lot of time in image editors trying to get the thing to work for you. You'll have to tell us more about the RES project you're working on. Are you planning on selling it or just giving it away? ;)

Thread: Help? | Forum: Fractals
The thing you have to remember is that jpeg compression works by dividing an image into 8 x 8 pixel squares and applies a formula to remember how to generate each 8 x 8 square's geometry and color. The more detail you have in your image and the more colors, the larger the file size. Try saving a jpg of a circle, make it as large as possible and see what the file size is.

I forget this sometimes, but if you optimize your colors before you export your thumb it makes smaller image sizes. I'm not sure how to to that in paint shop pro, but in photoshop its under image>mode. I usually select a 256 color pallete, but like I said I often forget about it.

Hmm, very emotional stuff. I see a lot of repetition in the themes, but very good writing.
Thread: A philosophical question about fractals | Forum: Fractals
Fractals do seem very repetitive to me after a while, and I try to take them a step further. Quite often I see fractals as a starting point, and take them into Bryce to make something more out of them. This is a topic I've noticed tackled before in the fractal forum. I've tried writing my own formulas before and they usually just wind up to be variations on the classic mandelbrot formula. The beauty of a fractal doesn't always lie in the artist which is what makes them so mysterious.
Thread: How about a Community for POV-Ray? | Forum: Community Center
I agree with pterandon, POV-ray is a powerful program and I think everybody here would benefit from such a community. It is a difficult program to learn, and I've always beleived Renderosity is a powerful learning tool.
Thread: Angels Killer?? | Forum: Writers
Unfortunately, demons are always trying to kill angels and there really is no given name for them, except demons. I did some searching about it nonetheless and came up with some interesting links. I've always been fascinated with the names of demons. http://www.sff.net/people/neelk/in_nomine/setting/opposite.html http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Demon (read the part about the hebrew bible, maybe you can use some of those names) and if you just want a million names to browse through: http://www.steliart.com/angelology_angels_demons_chart.html

Dial-up connections can be a pain in the butt almost anytime they feel like it. I work internet support for a local ISP and phone lines are always being fussy. The storms have definetly kept me busy at work.

Attached Link: http://www.fractalmusiclab.com
fractal music lab has a lot of information to browse through. I was playing with ArtSong for a while (which is supposed to be able to do that), but I couldn't figure it out before the trial period ran out. This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience.
