Fractals F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 21 7:59 pm)
My initial thought, since the galleries are meant to show one's art, is that they should go to the photography gallery, because your art in that case would be the photograph, and the fractal would become the subject you're shooting. Of course, this is one criteria. There could be other points of view. Cheers! Barbara

In such a case, you would upload as: 'Photography' & 'Fractal' 'Photography' gallery, and 'Fractal' genre. Hope this helps :) Nick

Well, I'm driving all the way from Chicago to Pennsylvania this Saturday (10 hour drive) and I'll have the camera with me the whole way. If I find any really good ones I'll post them to the photography gallery, but I'll let y'all know here. If you happen to live along I-80 between Chicago and Harrisburg, stand outside and wave, I'll see ya ;)
I'm in Cleveland, Ohio, so I'll wave from a short distance :) Have a safe trip, and do let us know of your posts :) Nick

On the other hand, I often feel like a photographer who is looking for interesting fractals to 'photograph' -- after all, the fractal is already 'there', I just found it, spruced it up a little, and grabbed an image of it. You are just looking for fractals in 'real space', not 'math space'. OK, it's not a perfect analogy. But I think it could rightly go in either gallery.

I just had a question that didn't come up when I searched the archives of this forum. If I were to take pictures of natural fractals with no postwork to them, do you think they should go here in the fractal gallery or should they go in the photography gallery. In the "What exactly are fractals?" thread, the wikipedia link to fractals was posted, and its also on our community page now. On that site they have a photo of a beautiful natural fractal, and it just got me wondering. What are your thoughts?
