I don't have a Bamboo but I do have a Graphire. The lower button on my pen does a right click. When using a brush in PS a right click will open up the brush menu. Does the Bamboo pen have this right click button on the pen and is it possible you are touching it when drawing?
Thread: "Painting" in PS? | Forum: Photoshop
I haven't found anything that didn't work with a Wacom tablet. It's the only thing I use. I haven't used a mouse in many years.
I prefer something like Corel Painter for painting. I currently have Corel Painter 9 but I don't feel the need to upgrade to 11. I did try an older version of ArtRage.
You can do a sort of painting with Photoshop equivalent to oil painting. Play with the settings in Bevel & Emboss in layer styles and using different brushes. For a more profession job it's better to have a proper painting software that allows you to use the different painting medias.
Thread: Dropelet don't work, or how to creat exe file of action??? | Forum: Photoshop
Awww thanks scott. Seems like I've been using Adobe software (and CorelDraw) forever. I had to rely on my memory for droplets though. To catch up on my upgrade to CS4 I watched a few hundred hours of CS4 videos and I don't think any of the course instructors mentioned droplets even once. Either they didn't know how they worked or didn't find them useful. My brain is busting with new info LOL.

When creating a droplet it uses the action in Photoshop. Once the droplet is created it contains that action. You can take a droplet from one computer and use in another.
I don't think you would be able to do the whole thing as a droplet.
First thing you want to do is open image A and image B then combine them into image C with 2 layers. That can be automatically done with Photoshop (or Bridge).
In Bridge select images then Tools > Photoshop > Load Files into Photoshop Layers...
Or in Photoshop - Files > Scripts > Load Files into Stack...
You would then have to save this new 2 layer file. Once you have done that you can then work on creating your action(s) and droplet(s).

Why would you want to create an action or droplet just to open a file?
A good working droplet is a no brainer. No searching for the right action. You don't even need Photoshop opened. A droplet will open photoshop and perform the action(s) on just those files that were dropped onto the droplet icon. It's just a more automated way of doing things you want done on a regular bases. If you create a good working action then the droplet should work equally as well.
Years ago I was doing reworking 300-500 images into avatars daily for a chat program. They had specs for dimensions and file size. I had a series of droplets which I created. I had the first one set to run an action to set the height, sharpen the images and save in a specified folder. A second to crop the width of any image that exceeded the required width. A third to reduce the file size. By breaking it up into 3 I was able to view the images to evaluate if the 2nd and 3rd run was needed. Of course I also had to evaluate content of images. You would be amazed at what some people thought appropriate LOL.

You don't open the droplet you created. You Drag a file or folder of images onto the droplet icon. Photoshop starts if it is not already running.
Thread: How to reduce thumbnail to 15k or below | Forum: Photoshop
I don't bother with the sliders. I click the Optimize menu pulldown in the Save for Web window and select "Optimize to File Size..." and plug in 21.7 (or whatever size) in the "Desired File Size" box.
Thread: So you all know CS5 is coming right? | Forum: Photoshop
Yes, shame on me. I can hear about CS5 but I can't look at CS5 stuff. I probably won't be able to afford another Adobe Suite till CS7!!

Attached Link: Map artwork to a 3D object
Here is the link to the Map artwork to a 3D object that I was referring to in Illustrator. I guess it wouldn't really apply to you since you are using a flat 2D template.Thread: Bend pattern around a curved path??? | Forum: Photoshop
I don't have Photoshop CS4 Extended so I'm not sure about that but I do know you can Map artwork to a 3D object in Illustrator CS4. It's quite impressive.

Has Content Aware improved that much from CS4 to CS5? No upgrades for me for quite a while. I just went from CS to CS4 in January.
Thread: Cheapest RAW format camera | Forum: Photoshop
I've also heard that $500+ seems to be the magic spot for cameras doing RAW. I've had to experiment with Camera Raw using JPGs since I don't have a camera that can produce RAW images. A new camera is on my wish list.
Thread: A rather stupid question | Forum: Photoshop
I was just faster LOL.
I have been watching video tutorials at lynda.com. One of the chapters talked about screen and print size comparisons. So it was fresh in my mind. What you do to the screen resolution in Photoshop won't effect printed output. I've never felt the need to change my default of 72. but I did try it out after watching the video.
Thread: A rather stupid question | Forum: Photoshop
It's a screen resolution / print size problem. In Photoshop go to View > Print Size.
If it doesn't match then you need to adjust your screen resolution in preferences.
Edit > Preferences > Units and Rulers
Photoshop defaults your Screen Resolution to 72 pixels per inch when in fact most are over 96.
To calculate:
Example
If your monitor is set to 1024 x 768 ... measure the horizontal width of viewable screen area of your monitor
1024 divide by screen width in inches = ?
you can test again with height
768 divide by screen height in inches = ?
You will come to the same number (approximately)
This would be the number to go in Photoshop screen resolution in preferences.
You would have to View > Print Size again. If it's still not exactly the same you can tweak that number in preferences. You only need to change it if you want a more realistic screen to print size match.
If you don't want to start fiddling around with resolution you could just assume the template is the right dimension even though it appears to be a look a different size.
Thread: removing rulers? help!! | Forum: Photoshop
Only a day late scott. That's a normal male reaction LOL.
Another way to hide (not delete) is to turn off Extras ... View > Extras or Ctrl + H. It will hide not only guides but grids, marching ants, slices etc.
It's too hard to remember each and every keyboard shortcut but Ctrl + H is one that is etched into my brain.
