thanks. this is what i did so far with the clothes, the coat for the doctor had a badge on it and some pens in the top pocket. I managed to remove the badge and pockets to change the style of the coat. it will do for now.

I have a new question. if you set up a movment rig in a character in blender will it still work in poser?

another question i have is about painting and unrapping a figure. I have a character in my comic that is called woodboy, so i need to either change a poser figure or make a new one that has segmented limbs and wood texture. I had wanted to just paint the skinmap for Ben but its far to complicated and I think a more sculptured change would be better. what is the gest way of doing this to end up with a working poser figure that i can fit clothes too?

sorry miss B, The chocolate is all gone.
my plan RedPhantom is to make all kinds of things mostly for my my comic in mind. Im not brilliant at Blender but im getting their ( the hard bit is my bad memory and forgetting all the short cuts) but at present im just using old poser models and adapting them for my needs. thanks for the heads up on the scale thing. softwere takes me time to learn but once i have I can get around.
I have learnt that you can use rigging from figures in your library but i am having a problem with the cloth ripping when posed. Do you weld all the parts together before leaving the setup room?

(sorry, you guys will have to excuse my bad typing , i have a problem with my arm and it sometimes makes my fingers do funny things)
so to ask again (typed slowly) the first question i have is about scale. when making things in blender , how do I be shure they will not come out too big when in poser? I realize things can be scaled up and down in poser but it would be nice to get it right in the first place.

another thing you can check is if you have a runtime folder inside the runtime folder. I have found this happends when tryind to load daz files sometimes. what i di now is make a folder on my desktop with a runtime folder in it and unpack to there, then move everything later.

I use old versions of v4/m4 and i had the same problem . I rebought the V4 but ended up ripping the files from old runtimes I had put on disk and managed to get m4 working that way. its only a flook i had decide to save the full runtime on disks from poser 7 years ago. its a pain to do it that way but i nopw have both working in poser 11. this might not help but i thought i would share anyway incase you have saved old runtimes somewhere.
