I'm seeing some wierdness with Aiko -- in particular, the resulting head morphs have her eyes translated forward and apart from each other so that they don't sit right in her sockets. I'm not too worried personally, since I mostly am planning on using the tool to produce a single channel body morph for use in "The Tailor". I can use Injection Magic to create INJ/REM files for "normal" usage.

BTW, I love the Advanced LIbrary. I've been using it extensively. I've divided my downloads into groupings based on several sets of favorite artists, and haven't really made things as "user friendly" as I could, but am slowly doing so in AL. (For example, I've been putting MAT pose files in the same virtual location as the "base" MAT files.) Before, I used to put morphed and adjusted clothes in a single runtime where I worked on my projects -- this typically lead to POSER needing to find the object files manually. Now I can keep them in sub-folders and just group them logically.
Add to this the fact that it runs much faster than the default POSER library interface, and gives you more to look at. What a great program.

About how long does it take Morph Magic to transfer a full set of Vicky 3 full-body morphs? Mine seemed to freeze up sometime over dinner :(

The problem I've found with Wardrobe Wizard is that it loses clothing adjustment handles, and it also destroys existing custom morphs (for things like adjusting clothing, opening/closing jackets etc.) There are some designers out there who have made terrific sets with lots to play with, but without the standard morphs, and Wardrobe Wizard really doesn't work on those thaht well.

This looks great. I'm planning on trying it out with The Tailor 1.6 and/or Morph Magic soon. The problem with both of those two utilities is that it is either tedious, or slow, to transfer the morphs one at a time, and my custom figures typically have oodles of FBMs.

Well, I've been using the Netherworks package for Aiko, and it works like a charm for those morphs it covers. Unfortunately, I've added a few it doesn't deal with, which make her calves a little extra large -- but I manage to get stockings and the like to conform with a little dial twiddling.
I've also used Morph magic to transfer the JCMs afterwards.
Thread: Technical question -- co-aligning light and camera | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - You can parent the light to the camera.
- Set up the scene with the camera and lights as required.
- Select a light and in its properties set it to be a spotlight. This will now allow you to use the "Parent" button. Parent it to the required camera.
- Set the light back to the original type. It will still be parented to the camera.
- Repeat for all lights.
I have my default lights parented to the main camera. In this way as I'm working on a figure I can look all round it without worrying about loosing detail in the shadows. I have other presets for the head and hands.
The Poser Tool Box has a tool to remove all the lights in a scene.
Thanks. I'm planing on doing a scene with a character holding a parasol to block out the sun, and it would be a lot easier if I could make sure that the sun was shining in the direction of the parasol.
Practical Poser 6 implies that there is a built-in python script to remove the lights, and that was making me very confused when I couldn't find it. I will try the toolbox.

Quote - Have you tried the Sylfie head morph for Aiko?
Â
No I haven't. The ears still poke out more sidewise than I like. I'm trying to do a mother and daughhter scene using a V3, and I thought an A3 would be good for the daughter, but it is very hard to get the A3 face (and particularly the ears) to resemble the mother sufficiently. I may go to using two V3s (one of them scaled down) with basically the same set of morphs, twiddled to make one older and the other younger.
Thread: Poser Magnets | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I like using existing morphs on figures, since they seem to lead to "organic" results, and like having clothing which supports the same morphs. For clothing, I like morphs to support major style changes (for example, whether the collar on a shirt is button down or not, or whether a coat has pockets. I'm trying to figure out how to use magnets correctly since it helps with seated figures. (I'm working on a scene with a frock coat hung over a chair back -- the tails should drape on the floor. The coat is stiff enough material that it might not be worth making it dynamic cloth.
Thread: Cartoon Renders | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The best way that I've found is to use is the "Cartoon Shaders" material pack from RDNA. It is well set up to allow for rendering in a number of cartoon styles (anime, 4-color comics, more modern comic style), and can incorporate existing textures with cartoon style shading. It has a pretty good tutorial as well. It essentially bypasses the Poser Cartoon rendering entirely.
I also use ShaderSpider, available form DAZ, to help apply the textures to just those groups I want. (On the Millenium figures, it knows what material zones are skin and what aren't.)
