Thanks Synchoncity-- I've picked up most of those kinds of basics from other tutorials, but what please is the 'hither' feature? In as much detail as you can stand? Thanks!

There's a good tutorial at MorphWorld (http://www.MorphWorld30.com/) about using the grouping tool to help make more accurate magnets. I'm still getting to grips with it myself! I also find the manual very confusing.

The templates for all the default characters, and all the clothes that come with Poser, are on the Poser Content CD. You can use these templates in any paint program to create pretty much whatever you want. There are seam guides in the Textures section here that can help with creating very specific maps for the figures, and if you have Victoia or Michael, their maps, as well as the ones for their clothes, are free for download at Daz3D.com. Transparency maps, since they are only black and white, can actually be quite small- even .gifs will do. Just assign the file you created to be the transparency map in Render/Materials, then 'browse' for your file. Make sure to set the transparency maximum/minimum up to your desired level! If you don't. it won't work. I hope that helps!

I've found that Vickie's clothes don't necessarily fit Vickie (at least not Vickie 1.0). You can get around this problem by making the parts of the model that poke through the clothing invisible-- no good if you're using interesting transparency maps, however. The best solution-- and one I've yet to get to grips with-- is creating magnets that will morph the clothing; that way you can get the clothes to fit the model as you've designed it. But I'm only a beginner here, and can't offer any better advice than that.

Wow Engelken, looks as if you've already done all the work! Now if I can just figure out how to do what you just told me to do, I'll be all set and happy. I did have a look at the Digital Babes tutorial, and have been playing with brushes in Photoshop to get a good effect. Thanks! Okay, I'm going to try that now... wish me luck...

Cool! First time I tried the export though I got HUGE hair prop somewhere in the middle of the scene. That was with a straight export from UVmapper (older version).

Wow, that IS a mess. I think I will need to redo it! In that case... any advice on how I can get the new OBJ to sit like hair, scaled and all, on a Posers head?

OK, Crescent- this must be a feature in the new UVmapper version. I can't get it to work; I can only open .obj files. That's okay... I think what I may do is just remap the hair and redo the morph targets, though that will be terribly time-consuming, unless one of you wonderful people can tell me a time-saving way to do it... BTW, UV mapper exports a 'mtl' file.. what is that?
