Quote - ghosty12, please contact DAZ_Ann at aanderson@daz3d.com and she should be able to reset your password. Unfortunately for some of us a lot of emails from the new site are being eaten en route, which I suspect applies to your reset emails.
If you tell us the email address(es) that is/are used for the newsletters and password resets and such, we can make sure they're in our address books and will not be rejected.
Just a thought...

Thread: Posting Regarding Changes at Daz | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Even if one of them posted an update, it might not matter. I just tried to look at the Store Update topic and it brought me to the login...after which it brought me to the store home page...I went back to the forum from there and when I clicked on the topic I was again presented with the login...after which I was again sent to the store home page. So that isn't working out very well. Not only can I not post, now I cannot even read.

OK, that other person's name appearing in the logon area is kind of scary. And seeing someone else's wishlist? It sounds like someone over there doesn't know how to set up database relationships properly.
It was funny to watch the requirements for Renaissance clothing for Genesis. - Requires Kids 4 Morphs ++
That second one might be interestingly funny.

So, a question to DAZ_Rand...will they address the outstanding issues in DS3/DS3A? I do see that they've done some work on Hexagon, for which I'm sure many are thankful. Is this a precedent? Or just a fluke?

If im being completly honest, and I am.... I must tell you that DS3 is a low priority. Hexagon was a big priority to fix this last round of issues but now that its done its low priority again. Documentation (and education), The Store, and the Download/install issue have top billing at the moment.
I must say that this is very disappointing! So, I've spent a lot of money...can't spend much more, and issues that you said would be fixed before DS4 came out are now low priority. This is one reason people get so upset. Things are promised but never come to fruition.
I think I'm done here, I've gotten the answer to my questions...not the answer I had hoped for, but kind of expected.
As far as the Download/Install issue...it seems that you've done what you always do...get a "cool" idea and begin work on it before asking the end users if they even want such a thing. I think it's obvious from comments made here that they do not want a download manager.

Yeah they did.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/products/lifecycle
Windows XP stopped being supported last year, and Vista ended October 22, 2011.
Well, I'm still getting patches and updates for it, automatically. Fact is, it was still in full support mode well after the release of Vista. I'm not asking for continuous updates for DS3/DS3A, just that they fix some things that they said they would, and make it stable for those who can't afford to run the latest and greatest version!
All I'm saying, DAZ3D (Digital Art Zone), is make all your customers as happy as possible, not just those who can pump money into your latest technology. We've all supported you! I've spent money in October and November and even renewed my annual PC membership!

Quote - Uh... excuse me? Since when does any company stop development to cater to the impoverished? Did Microsoft stop in its tracks because I couldn't afford a computer that would run Windows 7? Did Poser stop in its tracks because I couldn't afford a computer that would run any version beyond Poser 6?
I've been waiting for someone to bring this up! Did Microsoft stop innovating? No! Did they stop supporting older OS's? No! I, too, cannot afford certain upgrades, including my operating system. Though I have a new motherboard (by reason of my old one crapping out) that has a Core Duo 2 core processor, I am still running Windows XP 32bit. Vista has passed me by (thankfully, though) and now Windows 7 is getting to be old hat. Still, I get regular fixes and patches to Windows XP!
There are outstanding issues with DS3, Carrara 8, Hexagon. They fixed DS3 by making DS4. That's not a fix. It would be appreciated by many if some of the outstanding issues in DS3 would be fixed. But they stop support for the older thing when they make and publish the newer thing.
I don't bitch and moan about not being able to use Genesis. I admit that I may try it some day, but right now I can't afford DS4A, and I feel going to a standard version when I have DS3A is going backwards. At that time that I can afford to upgrade to Windows 7 and DS4A, I will enjoy the 64 bit version, including the dynamics. Until that time, I'd like to see DS3 issues get some attention. This is what people are talking about. Well, at least some. I know others are moaning about Genesis not working in DS3 but that's silly in my view. I don't expect fancy 64 bit features of Windows 7 to be able to work in my Windows XP.
So, a question to DAZ_Rand...will they address the outstanding issues in DS3/DS3A? I do see that they've done some work on Hexagon, for which I'm sure many are thankful. Is this a precedent? Or just a fluke?

Quote - We don't use zip files because we have a desire for you to accept the TOS among other things. I know that people think its a joke and that pirates laugh at it... But copyrights, trademarks, patents and other protections are no different. We are just doing it by the rules and if a legal issue ever did come up, we would have done our part correctly.
TOS can be accepted as part of our account or profile. I shouldn't have to agree over and over and over again. If the TOS changes, we can be notified of the change and be told that we must go into our account and agree again before any downloads are allowed. That would be acceptable to me and I think to many others, if not all at least probably most. I'd rather see that than continue with installers or some download manager scheme! I'd say that probably many agree with me.
Download managers can tend to slow download speeds. I get a premium speed with Comcast. I'd like to see my downloads maintain the best speed possible. As it is, I only get speeds of about 525 to 575 Kilobytes per second at DAZ3D. Some other sites are significantly faster, and a few as much as 2 or 3 Megabytes per second. I feel really bad for those who are still on dial-up. I've seen people saying that they have frequent breaks in downloads, and have to start over again. This happens more when the download speed from the server is slower. I don't know how a download manager will affect this for them, it may actually benefit them if it allows restarts from where it left off. (I used to love that about zmodem - yes, I know that showed my age)
Also, the idea that I won't actually have a file that I can use to re-install in case something happens (loss of hard drive, etc.) is disturbing. I'm not crazy about the idea of having to download what I've paid for again because I am no longer allowed a file backed up locally. Again, if I were on dial-up the thought of that would be absolutely horrifying!

Man, that security captcha is too difficult to read! I can't create an account at Team-Dystopia. I don't normally have a problem with those things, but there's too much "noise" in the image.
Is there any reason you didn't use ShareCG to upload this? I was looking forward to it, but I'm not going to try again at TD.

Yes, I meant Michael 4. Putting a human into a scene definitely shows the scale. Doors and windows are subjective. A window could be for a person, for a grand view, or just to let some light in. Without the human factor, you couldn't tell how big the window was. Same for doors. ChrisCox's mention of the bay doors is a perfect example. Other doors would be the same. Were they for humans, or some ten foot tall aliens? Or even larger alien beasties? Without the being in the frame, there is no telling.

I think if maybe you throw in a couple of M4's it would give an indication of scale.
