After years of building PCs, I was about to build a new one when I popped down to my computer store and found an end of range HP media centre PC for a ridiculously low price, cheaper than I could have built one for!

It's worth scouting your local stores for such deals - media centres or gaming PCs are ideal as they are built with graphics in mind

Weirdly, perhaps becasue of the strong £, it's cheaper to buy it from the USA - $35 including p&p!

Having read Deecey's Poser 6 manual, I don't hesitate to recommend her books and will be buying the Poser 7 one.

well, nobody's got close yet, either in the gallery or by PM!

50 next Monday but definately of the view that age is a matter of chronology whilst growing up is a choice, and one I've not yet made!

The only fact you have posted is that P7 set up on your machine crashes - from that, you genaralise that it is an unstable prog.

I had a few problems at the start but having made some changes, following suggestions in various threadds, P7 crashes far less often than any iteration of Poser i have ever had. In fact, after the initial shakedown, it has only crashed on me twice and at least one fo those was my fault.

Also, are you running Internet Explorer 7?

the reason I ask is that I upgraded to IE7 on a machine with Norton Internet Security. There appears to be a conflict between those two apps that cause other programs to crash if the latter are CPU/memory intensive.

I removed IE 7 and no problems since then! There are threads on Google about this problem, if you want to check it out.

I have had few problems with Poser 7 - delete was slow but I've reduced the number of undos and that seems to have improved things. I agree with the posters above - it's a much better release than P5 or P6 were when they first came out.

For anyone wanting to look at the product Natolii mentions above, I've just discovered that it's spelt 'Exlectix'

IMHO she is versatile. Before you buy, you might like to know the following:

The eyes can be changed in many different ways - if yoiu don't liek the very tearful look, if you buy the Pro pack, the 'Grace' character contains an option to switch off that tearful look.

She is very versatile, her body bends in a far more realistic way than V3. We do not yet have the individual muscle morphs that V3 had; not a problem as far as I'm concerned as the dials she does have work well out of the box, without having to do all of the morph injecting required in her previous version.

I like her; along with Miki she is my favourite fem character - I was always wary of V3 as I was suspicious of a fem model that looked beter as a male character ( :tonguecheek: )

Just a thought,

I had a similar problem - the serial I got with Poser 6 ended in a '1' which for some reason had to be deleted in order for P7 to recognise a valid serial.

If that does not work, it took less than 24 hours for me to get a response to my ticket.
