Thread: Can i import a material in poser material library? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Absolutely, but you need an object eg a sphere to activate the Posersurface, then using a texture node import your texture.
Then open your material section and save it....Jan
Thread: Teeth get left behind ... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You should have the Update Victoria 4 base on your desktop, have you clicked on that? Or check and see if it is parented correctly under the face?

Thread: V5 and Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I feel sure that V5 will be Poser compatible, since it is a new product, they want to get all of the bugs out first for DAZ then concentrate on their .exe file for Poser for both the PC and Mac. They are working Genesis as we speak
That is what Randy Lloyd stated yesterday AKA DAZRand (He also uses a Mac so he wants all the issues resolved too...Jan

Thread: Alyson2012 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
EClark, I thank you for being brave enough to put Alyson through her paces and to her creator. She is a far cry from Jessie etc (tremendous improvement) due to her head and body morphing capabilities etc.
A lot of people were undecided whether P9 and P2012 characters were improved (they really are from your work) . I believe they are now, I am.
I personally don't mind a "plain" default group of figures if you can spin the dials and create your own default figure etc. EClark you are a great Alpha tester.
As for the figures' creator, hat's off to him. Not many people have that type of talent and now he's got some more information that can be added to updates.
Remember even the most talent writers have proof readers and editors. Jan
Thread: Poser 8 rendering times | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I agree with Tony on house keeping, it really does speed everything up
and another trick after twiking the settings is to close Poser and turn the computer off for around 10 seconds (flushes stuff out of RAM that Poser put there along with other programs). Then start it up again, load Poser and your scene and begin rendering.
That works for me almost every time. Jan
Thread: Any one know how to make skin overlap clothing effect? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
sure can, but first the sculptris rules: first top, look for detail, there is a slider just under it. Ensure that it is all the way to the left. That will prevent you from adding polys
Next ensure that you have  symmetry TURNED OFF: having symmetry on will change the polygons
What you want is absolutely no change to the V4 parts mesh
Now in Poser and the figure, export ONLY the part that you want to change eg right upper arm or forearm NOT the complete figure.
Export that part as an .obj in a file so that you can find it again and nothing else.
In Sculptris, import that .obj as a new image. Do your pushing pulling etc with the tools on the left side (they do not add polys) a little goes along way.
Then save that .obj with a name like riight upper arm modification etc.
Back in Poser Object drop down menu select load morph target, click on your save .obj file and presto, you have the morph with a morph dial to twik...Jan
Remember DON'T ADD POLYGONS OR YOU WILL GET A NASTY REPLY FROM POSER

Fighting Wolf, you can morph parts of your figure using a free program called Sculptris from Pixologic.com and then export that body's part as an .obj to a file that you can find. Then in Poser's Object drop down menu call it up as a target morp.
I can show how I do it after you get that or have that program...Jan

Thread: Casting Shadows On Backgrounds?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There is another way too, under the file drop down menu Select import>background picture. No shadows what so ever on it. Great for vista views in back of figure etc.
If you change your mind, use Display drop down menu and clear background. Jan
Thread: Eye Enquiry | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That line appears to be the tear. In the material room click on head and click on tear in the drop down menu. increase transparency to 1 etc. That should make it disappear.

Thread: How many People just got Poser 9 or 2012 for the first time? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - It's a matter of getting used to it. Just like any software product. I challenge anyone to pickup a copy of ZBrush for the first time and not be completely lost.
ROFL, or the second, third, forth times or a year of remembering where everything is, and going over each video tutorial nineteen times...Jan
